People and chessmen were all around me trying to fight The Cat, and other member of the Cut. Their battle cries and attempts to puncture the thick build of the assassin was in vain. He just swatted at them as if they were just lowly insects and found enjoynment out of it. I swung my sword athis outstretched arm as he was aboout to strike me and a couple of rooks in the next front line against him. Hegave me a sour hiss as a small cut appeared on his large paw. Inside my head, I had a small victory for my first attempt to fight. The Cat drew back his arm amd swung much harder than he had with the other Alyssians. At that point, I went into a battle trance jumping onto his arm and swiped my sword across it as if it were a normal piece of meat. He isgnored it and swung his other furry paw at me and I jumped onto his head, his claws ripping into his own thick skin. He let out a loud yelp and he became more furocious. Some of the Alyssians glared at me, knowing that they were now in more danger thanks to me angering him, while others saught the opportunity of The Cat's blindness to correctly fight. I giggled a little and launched myself into a flock of Glass Eyes, my sword ripping through their innards.
"Gennevieve, follow me!" the Generals Doppel and Ganger called out to me, in the saddles of two spirit-danes. The bodies of the Glass Eyes landed twitching and sizzling with their wires laying all over them as I ran after the Generals. We left the headquarters and circled around the perimeters in the Whispering Woods, searching for something. Where was the Princess and Dodge in all of this mess? I thought to myself. Along the perimeters, a rook and a couple of other Alyssians joined my aide, whacking any invention of Redd's out of the way of the Generals. Soon, we came across a small clearing where Dodge and Alyss were, fighting off Glass Eyes and card soldiers.
Yaaaah!
A pair of two-cards ran at me and I was soon disconnected from what the Generals intended to do. I was stuck fighting them when my duty was to protect the Princess. I ripped through them along with other cards, and all the time the flowers were screaming in pain as some of the soldiers were ripping them from the ground and tearing their beautiful petals off. I glanced over at the Princess and saw what I did not expect. Her face was constorted, desperate to conjure something out of her imagination.
Nothing.
I guess after who knows where she's been for so many years, she couldn't imagine anything, as if it were gone. What truely amazed me was that she was trying. That was something tha was different than what I had seen as the earlier her in the camp. Perhaps there was some hope left in the queendom.
I followed the Generals to what looked like a crystal portal. An escape portal.
