I got up earlier than usual and long before Dante would be awake. I had the boys and the usual bodyguards escort me to the mall to get a little gift together to tell Dante the good news and as his birthday present. Although I feel a little scared and sad about it, I'm going to let him know.
When I told the boys, they were ecstatic and started arguing with each other about who was going to be the best uncle ever and what its name is going to be. I couldn't stop smiling at their humorous bickering. James and Thompson just shook their heads with a light chuckle.
Entering into a popular store for baby clothes, I searched for the perfect little outfit for my little bundle of joy. "What color are you going for?" Derek asked as he stood next to me, looking at the clothes too with a warm look.
"Awe, are you patiently waiting for this moment also, Derek?" I cooed as I slightly nudged him.
He chuckled and nodded, "As a matter of fact, I am. I can't wait to be a daddy." Derek looked at me and winked.
Ravior then came standing on the other side of me. "We should go with red. It can be both a boy's and a girl's clothes."
"No way, we're going with white man. Purity and simplicity," Derek argued back as he picked up a cute little newborns outfit. I bit my lip and nodded, "Let's go with white. But...which one?"
There were so many cute baby outfits I couldn't choose. As I continued to look around the shelves and racks, I came across the perfect white and silver one with wording on it that said, "Dadda's Biggest Happiness." I happily hyped up and pulled it off the rack.
"Alex! Come here!" I ran over to him as I showed him the clothes. "Look! Look! Look!"
Alex and Xander both laughed and carefully took it out my hands. "Dadda's biggest happiness," they both whispered as their smile broaden. "Perfect!" Alex said as Xander nodded in agreement.
I clapped my hands then took it back into my hands as I grazed the silver letters.
"Alpha wants us back, Lenny," James said as he walked over to us. I looked at him and nodded, "I'm all set."
In the car on the way home, I neatly folded the outfit in half inside the small box and placed the thin wrapping paper over it and put he lid on. I smiled as I rubbed the lid anxiously.
As we got home, Xander helped me down the hummer. He gave me a kiss on the side of the head, "Go make dadda proud." I giggled as I pecked his cheek and headed on inside.
Upon entering, Dante had descended down the stairs with Elders behind him who all had worried faces. "Alpha, I don't think we need to repeat this."
He abruptly stopped and swirled around, "Then don't! I am not going to force her to do something she's not ready for."
"Think about your domain, Alpha. They are all worried for the future of their life and the life of their kids. They want you to ensure that it is going to happen."
Dante growled and was going to snap the elder in half until he suddenly swirled around when he caught my scent. His pitch dark eyes looked to me as I looked over to the Elders, not saying anything. They stared back with wide eyes and started stirring in their spots.
When a deep calming breath, I smiled and looked at Dante. "Let's go to your office?" I asked softly as I walked over to him. He gave a single nod and placed his hand on the small of my back and went back upstairs to his office.
As we entered Dante closed the door and pushed me against it with his elbows on either side of me and his forehead against mine. His eyes were tightly closed as he steadied his breath. I smiled and lifted my free hand to caress his face, "Dante, it's fine. I'm not mad."
