"hello. hello baby. hiya. helloooo" Luke cooed. christ he was so loud i could hear him through the floorboards. i pour boiling hot water into two separate mugs and carry them upstairs carefully. we had been living here for two years now and honestly, things couldnt have gotten any better than they were. i had a gorgeous boyfriend an an even more gorgeous baby.
i tiptoed into the bedroom, fearing that lily may be asleep. i look over at Luke as he mouths 'thank you.' i set the hot mugs on the dresser and sit down next to luke by lily's crib. she was so perfect. she had big brown eyes, just like luke's and the cutest little button nose. i was so proud to be called her mother. i stood up and took a sip of my coffee. just what i needed in the morning, "im going for a shower" i whisper to Luke, he nods and continues to watch her.
i step into the warm embrace of the shower. i had never appreciated showers so much until i had lily. i loved her with all of my heart, but that kid knew what she wanted and when, and holy crap did she let you know about it. moments later a loud bang shook the house. great. "miaaaaaaa" luke called. here we go again.
