She was just going to get shopping - shopping. What the hell happened to her trying to establish some kind of normalcy in her life? But, groceries could wait a while. There was a fucking explosion by a statue, and some steps were completely obliterated. Lord, if this was another fucking Alchemist, Donnie might have to kill them.

Running down the ruined steps, her purse clattered in her trouser pocket, threatening to spill if she got any more forceful. Rolling her eyes, she put the thing back in her satchel, zipping it up as she went along. Food would have to wait. She needs to find out what the hell happened here.

Jumping across the gaps in the stairs, Donnie made it to the ground, looking around. Where did they get to? Ugh, she promised herself not to get in situations like this ages ago. But, here she was, chasing after some crazy fucking alchemist who randomly decided to trash the city.

An explosion brought her out of her trance, coming from a street not so far from where she was. Okay, that answered the question of where they were. Now for the other question to be answered; who?

Running towards the street, a cloud of dust accumulated around the alley. Through the dust, Donnie could just about make out the figure of a man, arm reeled back but fingers stretched out as if he was grabbing something, and the smaller figure of someone fighting him. She'd have to wait for the dust to clear, she needed to see who was who. Coughing, she waved the it away with a thin hand.

Oh, Ed. You fucker.

She threw her bag on the ground, and running to the man towering over the blond, he didn't notice her until she punched him in the nose. He stumbled back, the unexpected blow making him recoil from Ed.

"Wh-What! Donnie, the hell you doing?" Edward asked. Donnie didn't answer as she jumped to the man with the scar, attempting to deck him in the nose again. Scar-man jumped back just in time, though, avoiding her fist by a hair. What was hit instead was his sunglasses, as they clattered to the cobbled ground. Scar growled, as Donnie's breath hitched in her throat. Red eyes. He had red eyes.

An idea flickered through her head for a second, as Donnie jumped back, quickly getting into a fighting stance again.

"Hal Ishvala yafakhkhir alqatl alkhassat bik?" Would Ishvala be proud of your murders? The scarred man blinked, but didn't break his stance.

"Almutahaddith Ishvalan? Ma hu jadid." Ishvalan speaker? That's new. He growled. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ed pick himself up with an automail hand, and run towards the man. Good, he was outnumbered.

"E-Brother!" The girl heard a wail from the alley. Looking behind her for a split second as Ed distracted Scar, she saw saw an empty suit of armour reach out. Okay, that's his brother, but it's empty! Ok, calm down, probably something alchemy related.

Looking back to the fight, she rushed in just as Ed was about to get blasted by Scar's hand. She turned just a few seconds too late, though. His automail exploded into tiny pieces, scattering all over the ground. Crinkling up her nose, Donnie jumped up as Scar was just about to hit her in the face.

"Foolish alchemists who turn their backs on the ways of God," He began. Donnie knew he was talking about Ishvala, who else? Narrowing her eyes, she dodged another attack and skidded to the right. Scar grabbed her arm with the non-alchemy hand, as the other was poised above her face.

"Madha law qult lak 'ana Ishvalan?" What if I told you I am Ishvalan? Donnie admitted. He paused, then stepped backwards. "Hadhih aleuyun alzzuraqa' hi alaittisalat." These blue eyes are contacts.

"La..." No... "Limadha adha? Limadha 'ant tuqatil ly?" Then why? Why are you fighting me? He said, an edge of disbelief to his harsh tone.

"Li'annani Aibna, aibnat alssabieat min aibnat alssabiea. Wala ahd, wala hatta 'iikhwani wa'akhwati Ishvalan, yasubb 'asdiqayiy!" Because I am a Aibna, a seventh daughter of a seventh daughter. And nobody, not even my Ishvalan brothers and sisters, can hurt my friends!

She lunged at him, extending her foot out to kick him. Reaching out, Scar was about to explode her forehead, but she ducked just in time, kicking his legs out from under him. The man landed on his hand as he propelled himself upwards. Running at him again, Donnie was about to punch him in the face, when suddenly the non-alchemy hand grabbed her by the neck.

"Pray to god, young one." He said, in Amestrian this time, to the girl struggling out of his grasp. Gasping for the little breath she needed, Donnie tried prying his strong hand off her, her throat collapsing on itself the more she tried. There was only one way out this time, and she wasn't going to like it. Finding the energy to remove her hands from his, she clapped, as a spark of alchemical energy fizzled between her palms.

A gunshot tore through the air.

"Stop, Scar. Let go of the girl." Colonel Roy Mustang ordered. There was a pause. before he released Donnie, who fell to the floor in a wheezing heap. In between coughs, the girl smiled slightly at Ed, who was shivering on the ground with a single arm.

"You ok?" Donnie asked hoarsely, as Edward nodded his head nervously. "Good." She breathed, hoisting herself up on the wall. "Well, I'm gonna go now. I need to buy groceries."

Ed shuffled towards the empty suit of armour, shouting its name. I sighed, gripping onto the wall like it was my last lifeline. Scar was still standing in the centre, being attacked by another alchemist. He turned, looking at the strong alchemist with flaming red eyes.

"An... Ishvalan?" He said mystified, before attacking again. Mustang looked shocked at this revelation, as troops were surrounding Scar quietly. The strong alchemist was buying time, by the looks of it, waiting for the time when soldiers covered them on all sides. No, it looks like he was just trying to stay alive. Donnie doesn't know how she survived against him - pure adrenaline, she guesses, and luck. Letting go of a breath she didn't know she was holding, the girl picked up her bag and slung it across her shoulder, before slowly balancing herself properly.

The sudden crash of Scar's escape didn't phase her as her back leaned onto the brick for support, running a hand through her hair. Enough action for today, she decided. Looking back at the two brothers arguing, Donnie smiled when they were comforted by some friendly soldiers. Good, they deserve it.

"Hey, you okay?" An unfamiliar voice called out. Donnie looked behind her, as a man with glasses came up to her. "You weren't injured, were you?" He asked again.

"Uhh, no. It's just my legs have decided to stop working for me. Literally." She laughed slightly, shaking a covered leg.

"Oh my! Are you scared or anything? He's gone now, you know." He told her. This guy was kind, almost doesn't deserve to be in the military.

"No, it's just this damn automail hasn't been checked in ages." She laughed at his mystified face. "But anyway, I really need to be going now. I'm late for my job."
