He lied to me
"Four told me Molly beat you up, I was about to fucking cry." I say with relief in my voice.
"Actually, Molly is in a much worse situation than Genevieve right now." Christina explains. "Genevieve is a real fighter I swear."
"But, how, what happened?" I ask looking them all in the eye one by one.
"Long story short, I just stood up for Christina." Genevieve says, sitting up. "Molly called Christina a whore, and you know me, I can't stand people like that, so I basically jumped on her."
I wasn't surprised at all, one time at school, one boy called Genevieve a whore for not being like the other girls, I think you can imagine what happened next. She got detention for a whole week but she said it was worth it. Although we got a bad reputation, it was over after a few weeks. I look over at Christina, who looks tense. I don't know how someone can call her a whore. She is the sweetest person I have met here in Dauntless.
"Christina you're not a whore."
"I know," She says "but the fact that everyone was there-"
"They don't matter Chris! We know the truth, they can talk how much they want." I say and smile.
She nods "Yeah, I'm just gonna go find Will, he is probably worried." She says, before going out of sight.
--
We walk in the cafeteria, I see Peter and Drew sitting at a table, Molly is nowhere to be seen. Good. I go sit down next to Caitlyn. She's playing with her food, she doesn't eat anything, she just stares at her food and draws circles on her plate with a fork. I want to ask what is up with her, but I don't. She will explain it to me later.
"I think about visiting my brother today," She drops her fork on the tray, "Do you want to come with me?"
"I don't think I want that.." I say, biting my lip. She just nods and leaves. Leaving me alone at the table. I sit there a while, just thinking about the next phase of initiation. It scares me to know that's where most divergents fail. But I won't, I am not going to fail.
"What are you thinking about?" A male voice whispers in my ear, giving me shivers as he breathes down my neck.
"Nothing." I say, pushing myself away from him. He comes close to me again, "Can you back up, people are watching us."
"I don't care." He says, his breath, it smells gross. Is he drunk?
"What do you mean you don't care-"
"I want to kiss you, so bad." He whispers in my ear, again sending me shivers down my neck.
"You don't know what you're saying," I say standing up, he grabs my wrist and gets up too. I pull away from his hand and walk out of the cafeteria, knowing he's following me. "Four, I have a question, do you have friends?"
"Duh, who doesn't." He says, full of himself. I roll my eyes, he thinks he's funny. Oh, I remember that he's good with Uriah. I turn around ready to find Uriah, when a warm hand grabs my wrist again. "Don't leave me alone here."
I look around, we are near the chasm. "If you just sit still and don't do anything stupid, I'm going to get Uriah."
"Tris, you look really sexy when you're worried." I hear him say before I turn the corner. I shake my head and laugh at it.
He is funny when he's drunk.
--
"Tris, stay with me!" I hear him shout as Zeke and Uriah try to drag him with them. "Wait, wait. I have to say one more thing."
"Come on Four, you're making a fool out of yourself." Zeke mumbles, I giggle. Four looks at him, trying to look angry but it looks so funny; that I giggle again.
"Come to my apartment tonight, so we can-" Zeke interrupts him, thank god because I don't want to hear what he had to say next.
"Okaaaaaay enough, come on Four." Zeke grabs him by his arm and they walk away, our eyes locked till he turns the corner.
"Come to my apartment tonight, so we can have s-" Uriah trying to impersonate Four, I smack his arm.
"You're bad at it, just stop." I say, before leaving to the dormitory.
I think after all the bad things, I love life in Dauntless.
