AN:// this is my first fic on here like ever, so don't hate me if it sucks. Thank you! And the pic above is Kaitlin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kaitlin's POV
My alarm went off and I searched around for my phone and hit dismiss. Groaning I got out of bed and made my way to my bathroom. I turned on the light as I faced the mirror, and boy did I look horrible. My hair was sticking out everywhere and my make up that I forgot to take off yesterday was smudged all over my face. I groaned and grabbed a make up wipe and wiped all my make up off. I threw it away and turned the shower on. Stepping in I screeched because of how cold the water is. My brother must have used all the hot water this morning. Screw it, I'll shower tonight. I got out and dried off. I blow dried my hair and wrapped my towel around my waist. Walking into my room I saw my mom standing there."Yes, mom?" I asked going to my dresser.
"You have to take Michael to his soccer game today." She said. I nodded. She walked out shutting my bedroom door. Me and my mom have a love hate relationship. I put on my bra and underwear and then searched for some clothes to wear. I picked something out. A pair of black leggings, a white sweater, combat boots, and a nice jacket. I got dressed and I went and did my make up and brushed my hair leaving my natural curls in it. I sprayed on some perfume and grabbed my phone, bag and keys and walked downstairs. The doorbell rang as soon as I set my stuff down. I walked over and opened the door and saw my best friend Lizzie.
"Hey, can we talk?" She asked. She had a sad expression on her face.
"Yeah, come in." I said.
"I can't. It'll be so much harder to do this if I come inside." She said. Confusion was etched on my face.
"Harder to do what?" I asked. She took a deep breath.
"My family and I are moving to New York." She said. I felt tears come to my face. My best friend since kindergarten is moving across the country...away from me... My arms immediately went around her embracing her. She hugged me back. We stood there for a moment until we heard a car honk. We pulled away and saw her mom and dad waiting for her. "I love you, Kaitlin." She said.
"I love you, too, Lizzie." I said giving her one last quick hug.
"I promise I'll stay in touch." She said before going to the car and driving off. Away from me, away from California, and away from our dream of moving in together. I am so glad I have on water proof make up. I walked back to the kitchen and grabbed my stuff.
"I'll be back tonight." I said. My mom nodded. I walked out of the house and got in my car. I threw my stuff in the passenger seat. I took a deep breath before putting the key in the ignition to turn the car on. Once I turned the car on, I buckled up and turned the radio on. I started driving to school. First day of junior year without my best friend. This is gonna suck.
~
I parked in my normal parking spot and got out with my stuff. Walking up the steps I trip over my own two feet and fall forward. Just great. Clumsy me always getting hurt. I heard people laugh but someone came and helped me up and handed me my stuff."Are you okay, love?" The person asked. I looked up at the guy.
"Yes, thank you." I said. He moved his thumb across my chin. There was blood on his thumb. I was gonna start freaking out.
"Don't worry, the bloods gone." He said wiping it on his black jeans. I have never seen him before. "My name's Denis." He said holding his hand out.
"Kaitlin." I said shaking his hand. Some guys walked over.
"Are you okay?" One of the others asked. I nodded.
"I should really get to class." I said. Denis grabbed my arm softly.
