As soon as I woke up I instantly noticed where I was and who's room I was in. Cody's. I was in Cody's house, not only that but I was in Cody's room. And of course he was in here too. Half of me just wanted to pretend to be asleep until one, he left. Or two, I actually fell asleep. But of course he noticed I was awake, alive, and breathing. ( If that makes sense.)
" Alex, hey. Feel any better?" his eyes were a bit red, maybe he'd been crying. I don't see why though.
" uh, yes?" It really wasn't supposed to come out as a question. But it did, so now i'm screwed.
" You sure? You look a little pale." Me? Pale? When did this happen?!
"What? I'm not pale. At least I don't think so. Can I just go home now?" Of course me being me i'm gonna ask a million and one questions.
" I guess so. Just let me grab my keys. Ill be right back, don't go anywhere." Because i'm obviously gonna walk home. No thank you.
" Where would I go? To the bathroom?" Actually yes, yes I would. Stupid question.
" I don't know Alex, just be patient it'll take me a second." What does he mean 'be patient'? I'm always patient. Well there was this one time when we were in school and the first period teacher was five minutes late so I just left not knowing that my mom had that day off. As soon as I walked in I saw my mom eating some cereal. Guess what? Grounded for a week.
"Alex, come on. I found my keys!"
"That took a lot longer than a second. Anyway where's my phone at?" Of course I just had to ask, but I was trying really hard to not bring up the situation with the random chick sucking face with Cody. I remember it all but nothing after I passed out.

As soon as we pulled into my driveway it was complete silence. Neither one of us said a word until Cody broke the silence " Listen Alex, i'm really sorry about what happened at the party." he avoided eye contact but his body language basically shouted ' he's not lying, he's being sincere' but I wasn't so sure so I just decided to play dumb.
" I don't know what you're talking about..." I trailed off. His eyes desperately tried to meet mine but I wouldn't allow them too.
" Alex please." I know he's being sincere but I just wanna get inside of my house.
" I love you Cody, maybe a bit too much. Maybe so much that it isn't good for me because somewhere deep in my soul I think you love me too." I made eye contact with him and continued. " But then I know, I just know that you don't because maybe we're only meant to be friends nothing more nothing less. We're not meant to even be 'lovers' but I wish we were. And if it's meant to be it'll happen, but it still hasn't. I mean I've been waiting for it to happen for how long now? Four years, four. You don't even understand how much that hurt me to walk upstairs looking for you Cody, you, and what do I find? You sucking face with some random chick, not me." by that time I was a hot mess. Tears running everywhere, sobs escaping my lips every so often. And all he could do was look at me.
" Alex I do love you, and not in the way you think. I was a drunk mess trying to get you off of my mind but it backfired. I love you so much it hurts" I was shocked, amazed maybe. All I did was stare at his beautiful face( in a manly way of course) and then it happened once again. He leaned in, and kissed me goodbye. " I love you Alex... Goodnight."
