The morning of her sixteenth birthday, Celia awoke to the sound of her father singing happy birthday to her.
"Wake up Celia! Its your birthday! I have a big surprise for you waiting in the kitchen for you when you're ready to wake up,"
"Alright thanks I'll be up in a second," Celia grumbled, and began to get up from her bed walking towards the kitchen.
When she reached the kitchen she was greeted with the pleasant sight of fresh fruit, grown from their own garden, and vegan pancakes on the table.
"Surprise Celia! Its a birthday breakfast all for you!"
"Aw dad this was very nice of you to do," sitting down she took a bite of the pancakes and smiled to her father.
"These are delicious dad. Thank you so much."
"Glad to hear it. When you finish your pancakes start getting ready for school. We can't have you being late to school now can we," Celia groaned at the thought of school. Couldn't she have just this one day off? It was her birthday for crying out loud.
Celia wasn't much like any other teenage girl. She hated everyone at the High School in which she attended and viewed them as insufferable degenerates. Being that she wouldn't give anyone with views unlike her own the time of day, she didn't have very many friends. There was Todd, the tall blond boy in her geometry class who she didn't mind so much. He was a vegetarian and had antifascist viewpoints similar to her own so she found him to be tolerable unlike the other morons at her school. They were all repulsive swine who happily complied with a capitalistic government and would do anything a "higher power" would tell them to do.
The only person she ever truly liked and enjoyed the company of was her father. He was truly the only intelligent person she knew and the only person with a strong sense of what is right and wrong in their country. That being said, Celia has always had similar viewpoints as her father. Antifascism, anti capitalism, vegetarian and a PETA supporter, these were all things in which each of them believed in and partook in. They were both very opinionated and didn't give the ignorant people they were surrounded by a second glance.
With a sigh, Celia walked to her room and threw on an old pair of denim jeans, a grey T-shirt and grey converse shoes covered in paint splotches. The outfit, might it be mentioned, was from the thrift shop, as were the rest of the clothes in her wardrobe. Next she put some all natural vegan lip gloss on and pulled her brown hair into a pony tail. Stepping out of her room and walking into the living room she grabbed an apple off the kitchen table for lunch and walked outside where her father was waiting for her inside their car.
The drive to school was relatively quiet and when they arrived she gave her dad a goodbye kiss on the cheek and began walking to class. Her first class was chemistry, which she enjoyed for the most part. Her next class was government, but she rarely showed up to the class as it was very irritating for her to sit through the hour of government lies fed to society. She knew better than to believe any of the crap they "taught" in government class. It was all just another way in which the government would turn you into a mindless tool in which they would one day use for their own selfish gain.
Before she knew it her day was over and she began walking home. The walk was nice, and she thought to herself that today was a good day, a good birthday. Soon she was at her front door and began to pull her keys out of her bag, but hesitated when she heard what sounded like kissing on the other side of the door.
"Well that's odd," she mumbled and twisted the door knob stepping inside her home.
When she walked inside, she set her bag down and stepped into the living room, only to be greeted with the sight of her father lip locked with a brown haired man she'd never seen before.
She gasped before whispering quietly,"Dad? What's going on?"_________________________________
