Swimming Strong

Once there was a girl named Grace. She was not really like any of the other ordinary girls. She was autistic, and she hated it! She went to a school named Driftwood primary school. She was one who was made fun of a lot, and she didn't like that as much either. She wanted to be an active girl, but she couldn't do that because she was scared. A little to scared. She just always sat at home and read books all DAY!! This is HER story! One day her mom and her went to the store and she saw an add that said "Swim Team Try-Outs Tomorrow Here At 10 AM Be There" " Mom can i try out for the team tomorrow?" said Grace. She was so excited! she has never been on a team before! " That would be great honey" said Graces mom. Grace couldn't wait until tomorrow! Now remember this...... its Friday night, Grace still had a long day to wait. But she could do it! But the only problem was that she didn't know how to swim? How could she try out if she didn't know how to swim? That was a big problem! " Mom, how do you swim?" said Grace. " Wow Grace, i didn't think of it that way. But well learn by 10 tomorrow okay?" said her mom. " Thanks mom! Your the best!" At the time that they were done with the conversation, it was like 8:30 at night. Her mom and dad had gotten divorsed when Grace was a little baby. So it was just Grace, her mom, and their dog Snowball (who was a huskie, a very cute huskie to!) So Grace has gone through a lot in her life scince she was a baby. And her mom wont tell her why he left! So it remains untold. Which Grace can care less because she still has a lot to do in her life and she isnt going toi let that get in her way! She is like me! And by the way, im Tara! I swim on a team and i know how she feels because we have a girl on our team like that. But anyway back to the story! "Mom!!!!!!!! Wheres my swim suit??" said Grace. " Wow! I forgot about that too!" said Graces mom. Well this isnt that good either! How do you swim when you dont know how to and you dont even have a swim suit??? Well Grace didnt really care about that, she was just excited to try out!!!! " Grace! Grace" said her mom. "What mom?!?" "Go to bed now honey, get some sleep and we will talk more about this in the morning" mom said. "Okay. Goodnight mom" said Grace. "goodnight sweetie" Said mommy. The next day, Grace went to try out for the team. 'She told me it was hard, but she stuck through it, and made the team' said mommy. And that's the story of Grace and the fear.
