13. 13 long minutes separating me and my freedom.

I couldn't wait. The thought of getting out of this place actually managed to brighten my mood a bit. I was finally moving away from this dump. Leaving everything behind. It wasn't the first time I'd moved schools, in fact it was the 5th. Leaving year 9 and starting fresh. Well that's what I said every time we moved. Its a fresh start, it'll be different this time! Never happened..

"Don't watch the clock!" I muttered to myself. "It'll feel longer.."

I was in maths and honestly couldn't care less about what the teacher was saying. I was in bottom set, even though I was pretty good at maths. It was mainly because I just couldn't be bothered. Honestly I had bigger problems than finding the value of x!

"..and we are very sad to say that we are loosing a student.." I heard miss say to the class. Everyone was looking around, trying to figure out who.

"Pippa.. Its Pippa, so no one cares!" One of the popular girls at the back giggled. I just watched the clock ignoring all of the comments my class 'mates' were making. Finally the hand reached the 12 and I stood up, throwing my bag over my shoulder and rushing out of school. I crouched behind the oak tree. My cover for the next 15 minutes. I did this everyday. Hid behind the tree until everyone was gone, reducing the risk of me being beaten up again.

Mt phone buzzed in my pocket, vibrating against my leg, causing me to lose my balance. I fell against the tree, scraping my cheek against the bark.

"Damn it!" I whispered, leaning against the tree to steady myself.

I waited about 10 minutes before sprinting toward the park where my dad was picking me up.

"Pippa what the heck happened!?" My dad screamed as soon as I was in the car, "I thought that the bullies stopped that ages ago!?"

I chuckled and shook my head, throwing my bag onto one of the back seats.

"They did! Chill! I just slipped against the tree earlier.

He calmed down and laughed starting the car."

"Good. Right you have about 10 minutes when we get home. Then we're leaving!"

I smiled, not answering. Looking back at the park I leant against the window, letting a tear roll down the warm glass.

"Good riddance.." I mumbled.

That was about 6 weeks ago. Now I'm in Surrey. The night before I started my new school.

"I don't know about it Dad.." I mumbled, walking into the kitchen wearing the school skirt. I had always worn trousers but my dad was really keen on this 'fresh start' thing. The skirt was quite short, resting about 3 inches above my kneecap.

He smiled as I stepped into the room.

"Pips its lovely! The whole uniform is!"

I glanced down at what I was wearing. A deep red polo shirt and a black cardigan accompanied the skirt. It could be worse. At least I didn't have a tie this time!

"Yeah I guess.." I mumbled heading back to my room to change.

I loved the new house. It was only me and my dad, always had been, so the 4 bedroom house had more than enough room. The living room was the length of the whole house and stretched from the front garden to the back garden. The kitchen was huge (and we had 2 fridges!!!) and the games room was an added bonus. Overall it was an amazing house, and very similar to most in the area, but I still didn't want to be here. I guess it couldn't be as bad as the last place. we'd have to wait and see about school though. I had never found it that hard fitting in really. I always had a small group of friends at the schools. Even if I'd never had a best friend there was always someone to talk to. That was until my last school, Oakedge secondary, or as I liked to call it. Living hell!
