Helena's POV:

Today is the first day back at my school, and my best friend, Jakob and I need to meet up to walk to school together. We have been best friends for so long, ever since I remember. Our mums have been best friends since we were little, and we practically did everything together.

The only difference was that Jakob and I were starting at a new high school together, as I moved with him last year. Jakob and I were always extremely close, he always thought of me as more of a sister than a best friend, and quite honestly it killed me a little inside every time he talked about other girls around me. I have always had this little thing for him, and I have just been too afraid to admit it to him, and ruin everything between us.

Since we were little, we had a group, and with me being the only girl with three guys, it was a little hard to not develop feelings for at least one of them. But karma got me bad, and I got them BAD for the one I was closest with. Jakob. It sucked and I tried to admit it to him for so long, but we were just so different.

Jakob's POV:

Well today was first day back at hell hole all over again. Helena and I moved to the same school this year, because my old school was too far for the both of us. Helena was my best friend, and she honestly made everything a million times better. She was my closest childhood friend, we knew everything about each other, and no matter how different we were, we always had a special bond.  I was just about to walk to Helena's house when I got a call from a girl from my old school, Ciara.

"Ugh," I groaned, "Again."

I swung my head back and sighed, picking up my phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jakob!" she exclaimed.

"Oh hi, Ciara." I replied.

"So I was just wondering how school's going!"

"Uh, I haven't really left the house yet?" I reply confused.

"Oh right, I forgot! Have you made any friends yet!" Ciara corrected herself.

"Yeah, I am actually going with Helena to school, so um, uh need to go now, ok bye Ciara..." I slowly ended the call and rolled my eyes.

Always calls, she always calls. How many times do I have to tell her she's not my type. Jeez...

Beside the point, I rushed out the door and made my way to Helena's house. Once I reached her house I sent her a quick text, asking her to hurry up. Next minute, I saw her rush out of the house panting towards me.

"What's up with you?" I asked.
"It is our first day and we are already late." she laughed.
"Too bad, we are late together so eh, who cares?" I shrugged and nudged her shoulder.
"Hey!" She shrieked as she tripped over herself. I walked on, laughing hysterically at how ridiculous she looked.

She finally caught up with me and we started talking again, as the laughter died down.
"Do you reckon anyone will want to be friends with us?" she laughed and rubbed her eye.
"To be honest, I just want to know if there are any hot girls there!" I replied.
I watched Helena roll her eyes and sigh, raising her eyebrows.
"What?" I say.
"Nothing." she said, sighing again, slowly falling behind me.

Helena's POV:
He always did this, and inside it was just annoying. He would constantly talk about girls, girls and more girls, I decided to play along with him just this once to see how he'd react.

I pick up my pace and nudge Jakob in the shoulder.
"I wonder how many hot guys there's gonna be!" I reply, smirking at him.
"Oh shut up."
"What?" I laughed. "Who doesn't love hot boys?"
We both walk through the massive gates, and glare at the amount of people we see in front of us.

The fact was, I wasn't too good at this game, I had a soft spot for him, so this playing along act, had to toughen up a hell of a lot for some real competition.
