Darkness Within

The sun had just risen. The warm sunlight felt good on my back. I had just went on a run in the forest: Black Forest to be exact. I heard a ringing and looked around me before I realized it was my phone. i answered, and it was my father. My father is chief of Black Hands. "Mason, you need to go to Lake Justice. There is somebody standing there that you haven't seen in a long time. Don't let her see you until you are done changing. She won't know you are there." "Yes father." I changed and ran through the woods at a normal pace but getting faster along the way.

"Katrina, is that you?" I asked. "Yes, who are you? Show yourself!" She couldn't see me because she wasn't used to the dark as I was.  "It's Mason Brown, from kindergarten?" I saw the relief in her face as I stepped into the moonlight. I was barechested in only my basketball shorts and no shoes. Realization crossed her face before she was by my side. "MASON! OMG WHERE DID YOU GO?!" I almost told her my secret before I remembered that I can't tell anybody. "I moved to London and came back a month ago. I never thought I would see you again." I lied. "Well you should have stayed. Jakob and Sharon bullied me again. Do you want to come to my house and talk or watch a movie?" I didn't know how to respond. "Ill meet you there. I have to get clothes and shoes." "Its ok. You can borrow Jadens clothes and a pair of flipflops." I guess I have no choice now do I.

                                                                     At Katrinas House

                                                                      KATRINA'S POV

"Soooo, what is London like? Everybody gets to go places but me... it sucks." I ask. "Oh, its kinda like here" Mason answered. I felt like he was lying to me but I ignored it. We were sitting in my room watching Twilight. "Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be a werewolf?" Mason moved and he looked uncomfortable. "What is wrong? Is it something I said?"

"No Katrina. I just don't like talking about stuff like that. It's not real." he responded. "Can we watch a different movie? Twilight doesnt seem good. How about our movie?" I can't believe he remembered. I get up and put it in.

"DADDY HELP ME!" echoed around the room. Im sitting on my bed, Mason is sitting on the floor infront of me and im playing with his hair.  Its long so im putting it up in ponytails and stuff. At the end of the movie he gets up and turns the tv off. "Katrina, I really want to tell you something. I have known since I was a little boy. You helped me get through it but I-"

"Katrina! You're father is here! Come down here and socialize!" mother yelled upstairs. Way to ruin the moment mom! I hear a deep chuckle from behind me. Did i say that out loud?

                                                                          After Dinner

"Sorry about mom and dad. They missed you. Ill call you later then. One more thing, what were you going to tell me earlier?" Mason looked around as if he was in trouble. "Nevermind dude. See you tomorrow" I reached up and wrapped my arms around his neck. Mason tensed but then started hugging me back. He nuzzled into my neck. Suddenly, I felt a strange pull toward him. I pulled up and kissed him. We stood there just kissing.

When he pulled away I felt like i was alone. He looked at me and crushed me against him saying "I found you at last."

"What do you mean 'Found me'? We've known each other since we were babies Mason." I looked at him questionably. He turned around and ran into the woods. I guess I won't be talking to him for awhile.
