This chapter is dedicated to ChloeStromberg12 who gave me ideas for this chapter. I didn't use all of it but it did get me thinking on how to keep it going. Off to the local sports awards(my team was nominated for team of the year) so I am writing this with wet nails. Lets hope I don't get too much polish on the keys aye!
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly-listening to Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway while writing this.

Chapter 12
"Yo Kim" the voice called again and I sighed, wrenching open the door to the smartly dressed latino who had clearly been leaning on the door from the way he stumbled in. "Hey, you alright?" he asked shutting the door behind him.
"Where is Mika?" I asked avoiding the question. I don't really know how I feel. Or how I don't feel. There are so many emotions spinning through my body at the moment. It's pretty hard to keep track. I just know there is a huge aching spot where my heart used to be.
"Off talking to Jack" he replied calmly and my eyes bulged. "What?!" I exclaimed rather loudly. I can see how this will end. Some childish "say sorry and go play" thing which leaves everyone involved even more awkward than what we originally started with. Or maybe Jack is just going to say I am to dramatic and leave me alone.
"Shh keep it down, we don't want the whole party in here" he warned, jerking me from my panicked thoughts before continuing in a softer tone. "Mika and I were outside at the time. You should have seen us yo. We were hiding behind an apple tree because we were so scared that you would see us and redirect your anger at us instead. Terribly awkward I can tell you. Wait I just did. Nevermind. You should have seen Jack's face when we decided it was safe and decided to sneak out. He went an even brighter shade of red, then purple then kinda pale. Like a chameleon" Jerry explained, laughing slightly.
"So what were you and Mika doing outside spying on us?" I asked smirking and it was Jerry's turn to look pale. "We um were like uh yeah" Jerry stuttered turning a rather girly shade of pink. "Don't tell me, I am not sure I wanna know" I laughed and Jerry opened his mouth to try and offer some other random explanation that would probably make even less sense. I held up my hand to silence him and asked another questioninstead. "So why are you in here with me?"
Jerry looked relieved at the change in topic and responded happily. "I was worried about you. Plus if I comforted Jack he might turn on me. Better let Mika handle that one. I know he won't hit a girl" he explained and angrily I rushed to Jack's defence. "Jack would never beat you up, Well when we aren't training atleast. You two are really close and Jack isn't like Frank and the black dragons. He doesn't take pleasure in other's pain, especially not his friends" I replied hotly and Jerry looked kinda scared. "Chill girl, I know" he wrapped his arm round my shoulder.
In a sudden impulse, I buried my face in Jerry's leather jacket. "I have gone and ruined everything haven't I. Jack never thought of me as more than friends but I just blurted out that I thought differently. He won't want to rekindle our friendship now" I sobbed, breaking down again. He rubbed my back reassuringly. "Jack is distraught too. I am sure if you came with me, you could talk it out" I nodded and wiped my eyes on the back of my hand and he smiled. "Whooo, lets go" he took off out the door and I followed more cautiously, laughing as I saw him take the stairs too fast and trip down the last few. "Nice Jerry" I called out as he checked to make sure no one had seen. ignoring his glare, I descended the stairs carefully.
I felt like everyone at the party was staring at me and whispering as I followed Jerry who was jumping about and crashing into things. He calmed down at the door to the garden though, and pushed me infront of him. "Jerry" I scolded and then heard a cough. Jack was standing in the same place I had left him, with Mika a few paces away. His sad, puppy dog look reassured me and I walked into the garden with confidence, which is more than I can say for Jerry, who was now half using me as a shield as he made his way over to Mika.
"Kim" he began and I sighed, "Jack." He closed the gap between us and embraced me in a hug that felt of pain and regret. I hung on tightly, wanting to squash those feelings. "I'm sorry kim" he apologised and I nodded. "So am I" I smiled, looking into his gorgeous eyes. "Lets just put all this behind us. Friends?" he asked holding out his hand, and my heart sunk. Thats all he thought of me then, even after my outburst. I didn't want, after all this drama, to end up right back where we started. Yet I was in no mood to initiate more fighting. Atleast being friends sounded alot better than awkward aquaintance. So I put a fake smile on my tear stained face and took his hand, ignoring the pain in my heart.
"Yay, everybody is friends again" Jerry cheered and ran over and scooped up Mika in a surpising show of strength, which from the look on his face, wasn't lasting. Mika giggled and playfully slapped him, giving Jerry a welcome excuse to put her down on the ground. I raised my eyebrow at Jack, who suddenly had a playful smile on his face. "Don't you dare" I warned backing away with my arms up. As he stepped towards me, I turned and ran back inside, where I could seek refuge in all the party guests. Once safely back inside I immediately slowed to a casual walk, hoping he would follow suit. However, there was one teeny, tiny detail I didn't remember. Or should I say, one toned muscly human, who unfortunately did remember me.
"Woah Kim, is everything alright?" I mentally cursed when I saw the boy who had started it all. "Yeah, thanks Eric" I replied sweetly, very aware of Jack's presence behind me. "Well anyway, I am leaving now, but if you wanna catch up sometime...." he passed over a scrap of paper with his number on it. I accepted it mutely and he gave me another smile and turned to leave. "Eric" I called out. Taking a deep breath as he turned back around I smiled. "Thank you." He nodded and left.
"Sooooo...." Jack asked walking up beside me. "The party is due to end soon, is your mum coming?" I asked quickly, hoping to avoid him mentioning Eric. Jack nodded. "Ten minutes away" he waved his phone for confirmation as a slow song started. "Well?" he asked, hoding out his hand. I grinned and he twirled me round. "Just follow me, don't try any of your dance moves" Jack fixed me with a glare and I glared at him. "My dancing is awesome" I declared, choosing to ignore Jerry's laugh behind me.
I was the first to be dropped off on the way home. Jack climbed out and walked me to the house in silence. The moon was shining and all the stars were out. It was such a pretty night, I couldn't help grinning as I turned to face Jack at the door. "Well, after all that, I did have an amazing night" I smiled at him and he grinned cheekily back at me. "Yeah, it was pretty cool wasn't it" his face took on a more serious expression and he stepped closer to me, placing one arm on my elbow and the other on my shoulder. I tried to continue breathing normally. Jack was touching me, Jack Brewer might be about to kiss me! I couldn't stop staring at his face as it inched closer to mine. I bit my bottom lip as I wrapped my arms around his waist. I could feel his breath on my face as I closed my eyes. Painfully slowly. I resisted the urge to grab his face with both hands and eagerly awaited the much inticipated moment...
"Hey Kim you forgot-" Jack pulled away sharply and I groaned as Jerry skidded to a stop infront of us. Obviously realising what he had just interrupted, he smacked his head. "Oh really Jerry, really?" he sighed and handed me my cellphone. I took it curtly. "I am so sorry Jack and Kim, um well you can you know, uh return to your, I mean....I'll wait in the car!" Jerry sprinted off back up the garden path as I shot daggers at him, though I couldn't help internally laughing at his embarrasment
Shaking his head, Jack turned back to me with a smile. "Well goodnight then, Milady" he ran his hand slowly down my arm, making the hairs stand on edge. Taking my hand gently in his, he brought it to his lips. His eyes never left my face as he kissed it, and shivers raced up my spine. "Goodnight Jack" I whispered and opened the door. He began to walk away, but turned and waved at me so I raised my hand in return, before shutting the door softly behind me.
"How was your night?" My mum asked as she came down the stairs dressed in her flannel nightgown. I leaned against the door and grinned to myself. "Magical"
