Chapter 2 ~ 'He's a freak."

Noah didn't lie, the class really wasn't that bad. Neither were my other three periods. It was now time for lunch and, surprise surprise, I was at the "popular" table. I was used to it by now. Somehow the "populars" always snagged me first at every school. Which is kind of ironic considering I'm not like any of them. I am proud to say that I am a complete and total nerd. I don't know why but everything about school intrigued me.

"Hello, earth to Riley!" Noah spoke loudly waving a hand in my face. Dang, I need to stop zoning out.

"Sorry, I was thinking.." I said shyly. I may seem strong, confident, and beautiful but that's the exact opposite of how I feel.

"I noticed." He smirked. That will be the death of me, I thought to myself. "I wanted you to meet my friends." He nodded towards the table, pointing at everyone as he said their name. "That's Crystal, Lyssie, Zak, Erik, Airrin, Mika, Kyle, and Rosie." He spoke so fast that I only caught Lyssie, Erik, and Rosie. "Err, I'm Riley." I smiled and waved as I sat down beside Airrin, she seemed the least into herself. I watched as Noah walked around the table to sit opposite of me.

"So why'd you move here?" I turned to the sound of a deep voice.

"Hmm?" I didn't look at any one inparticular.

"I said, why did you move here?" I looked at a pair of light blue eyes. I think it was Kyle. His hair was dark brown, and he had this look that could make every girl melt. I could look at him for days and not get tired.

"Erik! You can't just ask people that." Noah slapped the back of his head.

Definitely not Kyle.

"Yeah, way to be blunt dude." Mika said. That has to be his name because he looks like the only Mika here. His hair was dark brown as were his eyes. But they aren't a dirt brown, they're more of a chocolate color. His skin was dark, but not too dark. His voice was silky with a hint of a Spanish accent, which made him more attractive than he already was. If that was even possible.

"It's okay, Noah. I'm used to it by now." They all gave me questioning looks, but I ignored them and continued. "My mom is a fashion designer for celebrities and she's also a writer slash producer."

"Oh my god! That must be so amazing! I mean, getting to meet celebrities and stuff." Airrin breathed out deeply.

"Yeah, that's insane!" Zak spoke with widened eyes, making me smirk.

"What about your dad?" Erik spoke up, not taking his eyes off of me. My smirk instantly vanished.

I played with my salad, not really knowing what to say. "He um, he isn't in my life right now. Nor will he ever be again."

"Why?" I looked at Erik incredulously.

"Because he's a prick, anymore questions?" I hissed, not wanting to continue on the subject.

"Yeah, why does it- Ow, dammit." I watched as Noah gave him a warning glare, and I'm assuming he kicked him in the leg.

"Sorry about Erik, he's just really noisy." Rosie leaned over to whisper in my ear.

"Touchy subject, dude. Try not to go there again, Kay?" I asked with a slight nod, which he returned with a playful grin. What that meant, I don't know. But I had a feeling I didn't want to find out.

"Do you like it here?" I looked over at Kyle for the first time. He was surprisingly beautiful. Everything about him was flawless. He's one of those boys that you instantly hate because their so gorgeous you know you wouldn't stand a chance. He smirked when he noticed me staring.
