Summer Changes Everything

Trip to the Office

Jasmine's POV

Alexis! Give it back!!" I chased after her  and she ran from me giggling. "You've gotta catch me first!!" We ran around the class chasing eachother, my scarf was flowing behind her in her hand. I quickly speed up and reached out to grab it. I was so close! My fingers grazed my scarf, the soft fabric brushing lightly just out of my reach. I stumbled forward loosing my balance and tripped over someone's backpack laying on the floor. I fell over with a loud 'Oouf!' and Alexis slid to a stop.

I looked over at who's backpack I had tripped over and saw the one and only, Nick Taylor, aka, my crush. I blushed looking up at him then stuttered, "H-hey Nick, w-what's up?" He looked down at me with worry plastered on his face. " Are you okay?"  I got lost in his eyes not hearing what he said. He gave me a look of concern and I snapped out of my daze. "H-huh? O-oh yeah I'm good!" I gave him a reassuring smile and he seemed to relax a bit. "Okay good. Be more careful next time okay?" "Y-yeah, sure...." I felt my face get hotter, making my whole face go red with embarrassment.

"Hey! It was YOUR falt she tripped! Next time, move your bag, you shit head!!" I whipped over at Alexis who was standing with her hands on her hips, smiling heroically as if she had just told off an evil villain and locked them up in jail. I face palmed and thought to myself, "Yup, That's Alexis alright. She never knows when to shut the hell up." "Listen, I'm really sorry, I didn't know my bag was in the way of anything, but that doesn't give you the right to yell at me." She looked stunned for a moment and tensed up. " Y-Yeah? Well, that doesn't give YOU the right to talk to me!"

Wow. Great come back Alexis. You really knocked 'em dead. She glared at him and he stood up and glared back. "Hey! You were the one who called me a shit head!!" She stepped forward then yelled "That's because you ARE a shit head, you shit head!!" He stepped closer then yelled back " Well if I'm such a shit head, then that makes you a complete dumbass!!" She growled then screamed, " Dick head!"
" Loud mouth!" "Lard ass!" "DUMB SHIT!!" "FUCK BOY!!" "FAGGOT!!" BITCH!!" "RE-" "Eh-hem."

They both froze and looked over to the source of the noise. The whole class was staring at us wide eyed, and the teacher stood at the front of the class with her arms crossed tapping her foot glaring at us. "You three,Principle's office. Now." I got really flustered then I yelled without thinking, "But I didn't-" "Now!" I shut up then silently left the classroom, fuming on the inside. Right before I turned down the hallway, I heard one of my classmates go "ooooohhhhh!!!" And everyone laughed. I glared back at the class hating my life at the moment. "What the hell were you two thinking?!" I was so mad that I hadn't even realized that this is literally the most that I've ever talked to or even been near my crush in my entire life.

Alexis sighed then said, " I don't know, he just really pissed me off," "but I didn't do anything to you!" " Can it, shit head!" " You-" Nick was about to say something back but I cut him off, "Guys shut up! This is the main reason why we're in this mess in the first place!" That was directed more towards Alexis, but it sure shut them up fast. Once we got to the office, the secretary told us to go sit down and gestured towards a row of chairs lined up against the wall. We all sat down beside eachother looking in opposite directions to avoid eye contact. I did so that I wouldn't be all awkward, they did it so that they wouldn't end up fighting again. I sighed and rested my head on my hand crossing my legs. This is dumb. I shouldn't even be here, I didn't even do anything!

As I was sitting there thinking to myself, I saw a boy about my age walk over to the secretary's desk. Huh. He's kinda cute... I sat up straight and observed what he was doing. Alexis noticed me,and followed my gaze to see what I was looking at. She saw the boy then looked back over at me with a smirk on her face. "Excuse me Ma'am, Umm, I'm new here, could you tell me were class 125 is?" 125....that's our class! Why does he want to know were our class is?! " Down the hall, the to your right. Your Danny Andrews, correct?" "Yeah, but you can just call me Danny!"  He left the office and spotted us on his way out. Alexis smirked at him, Nick gave him a weird look, and I blushed slightly and waved. He smiled and waved back and my heart skipped a beat.

We finished up our time at the office, and the bell rang. I walked back to my class and packed up all my homework into my backpack. I swung my bag over my shoulder and casually strolled out of the class. Alexis ran up behind me and we started walking home together. "Soooo, today was pretty interesting...." "You can say that again. So why did you pick a fight with Nick?" She looked over at me curiously, "I told you, because he just pissed me off." "But you know I have a crush on him!" "You mean HAD a crush on him." " What do you mean?" " I mean, that was the longest amount of time you've ever spent with him, and you saw his true personality," "which is...?" "That he's a total douche bag." I looked over at her surprised,"what?"

"Honestly I don't know how we didn't assume that he was gonna be, he is one of the most popular kids in school after all, almost every girl there wants him." "That may be true, but he's not a douche bag. He apologized for everything,we had a nice moment, then you flipped out remember?" " Yeah, but  even if he isn't, he still isn't your crush anymore." "Why?" "Because you're not allowed to have more than one crush! Hogging all the guys all to yourself...." "What are you talking about?!" "You mean WHO are you talking about. And I'm talking about Danny~. I saw you making googly eyes at him earlier! Looks like Jasmine found herself a new crush~" she wiggled her eyebrows at me and I couldn't help but giggle. "Whatever you say Alexis..."
