"It's okay"
It was sunset on a Friday and I was looking through the window of my friend Betty's house. She was having dinner with her family. They were talking, but I couldn't hear much through the glass. I made out a couple of words like "bread" and "car" but none of the actual conversation. Betty said something then her mum replied and she started walking off so I assumed what she had said was "May I be excused?" and her mum had replied with "Yes" or something like that. I followed the wall along to the bathroom. Betty was going to wash her hands as all of her family do after meals, so I knew this was my chance. I was going to communicate with the living.
I prepared to pass through the wall. Now, I knew it would be weird, but I didn't know it was going to be that weird.
----
I went through the wall and then towards Betty. I pretended to take a deep breath and then stood in front of the mirror with her. Her first reaction was not screaming, thankfully. Instead it was a wide eyes and a white face, then she got angry "ELLI! Why would you do that to me?!" Then she realised that I wasn't physically behind her and that's when she screamed. I tried to calm her down by mouthing [It's okay] but she was to frightened to concentrate. What I feared came next "MUM!!!" Betty screamed. I passed back through the wall and ran away from her house.
