Chapter 8: Regionals

The next day, I woke up with a HUGE smile on my face. Memories from yesterday started to replay in my head and my smile grew even more if that was even possible. I stood up and was about to grab my towel, when I jumped, when I heard Beca’s voice.

“Why are you so happy?” She asked.

“Oh gosh. You scared me. And anyway, it’s nothing” I said.

She gave me a “Yeah right. You’re hiding something” look.

“It’s nothing. I swear.” I said to her as I walked out the door and made my way to the bathroom.

After taking my bath and brushing my teeth, I threw on a white shirt with the word 'BITCH PLEASE' on it, black jeans, red varsity jacket and my black combat boots. I tied my hair into a ponytail then me and Beca went to the Bella meeting to practice.

When we got there, everyone was already vocalizing and doing warm-ups. We joined them and a few minutes later, Aubrey said it was time to practice.

As we were doing part where we were circling Chloe, I noticed that she had a hard time singing. When we ended the song and dance, everyone panted and craved for water.

“I should have taken that cardio tip more seriously.” Amy said.

“How much have you done?” Aubrey asked.

“You just saw it.” Amy responded.

“Chloe, you gotta be able to hit that last note.” Aubrey told her.

“I can’t. It’s impossible. And it’s because of my, my nodes.” Chloe said.

“Well, if you can’t do it, then someone else needs to solo.”

“I think Jess should take my solo.”

“I think Beca should take your solo.” I told her.

“But-“ Chloe tried to protest when I cut her off.

“Please Chloe. Beca would be perfect.”

“Ok. I think Beca should take my solo.”

“Yeah, Beca would be excellent. But also, someone else might be equally as excellent.” Amy said.

It’s obvious she wanted the solo.

“It’s true.” Beca said.

“And they might be shy and not wanna come forward and say they wanted a solo.” Amy added.

“Well, Beca doesn’t want a solo, so…” Aubrey said.

“I would be happy to do it if I got to pick a new song and do an arrangement.” Beca said.
