Feet echoed mine, I stopped walking and the sound vanished into the atmosphere. I continued walking and there it was again. My heart beat quieckened, I could see no one infront of me, the street empty. I quickened my pace hoping my stalker would soon turn off into anoter street. But they did not. Rapidly I turned one corner and flattened myself up against an old fence which creaked; it had long had its day. No one emerged around the corner. Strange. Sliding myself quietly back up along the fence from where I emerged around the corner. My knees groaned as my hands reached for the ground for support, my breathing was irregular. Slowing it down, I slowly put my head around the corner. To my surprise there was no one there, just an old oak tree which I had passed without noticing. A hand reached from behind me and swept over my mouth, held there as a piece of cloth was tied around my face. A squeal was trying to escape my throat, but all that came out was a groan. As I was pulled up off the ground, my legs kicked out, hoping there was some way to be freed from their grasp around my stomach. They were so strong. There was no hope. Having one more try I twisted and turned. A fist punched my side, sending me sprawling onto the side walk. It's then I saw them, well, him. His hair was dark, and his eyes royal blue, the colour that made you want to look into them and never turn away. A nauseating felling swept over me and the world went dark.

...

The room was dark, and cold, with only the crack under the door letting me know that there was still an outside world. I could hear muffled voices talking. What sounded like my name was used in the sentences. Wait! My name. I snuck closer to the door and put my ear near where the light was escaping into the room. "Mali would not have even realised, she has been living out there too long, and by the way she acted when I got close, I'm definite that it's true." By the way I acted? What are they talking about?

"Mali would not have even realised, she has been living out there too long, and by the way she acted when I got close, I'm definite that it's true." It didn't surprise me after all those people are the evil ones, unnatural.

"Of course why wouldn't they have done that, It was the only way that they would have been able to keep her close", Cavalla was definitely un-im-pressed. "Well, we can get her out here in an hour and see if we can reason with her, WITHOUT force. She has been in a place where she believed she has belonged her whole life, so let me do the talking".

I suppose there was no way to disagree there. "She needs to know that she is like us, don't expect her to be welcoming when we bring her out. But if she somehow remembers and decides to stay, could I... (fingers crossed here, after all that happened before the abduction I will be very lucky if she approves) re-train her?"

Cavalla looked shocked, "I suppose, on one condition... you keep her in your sight, help her to realise we are on her side and do not under any circumstance let what happened before happen again"

Emotions ran through my veins and I knew the next 24 hours would change this if it went wrong.

Something startled me, without realising it I had fallen into a deep sleep. People were disagreeing, and then the noise subsided. The outline of shoes appeared through the crack under the door. The door squeaked open and a male taller than me opened the door. It was him, the guy who had chased me holding a bowl which had steam coming out of it and its blissful aroma flowed up my nostrils. I tried to avoid his eyes but couldn't as something about him struck me as familiar. As he kneeled down and extended the bowl out to me, so backed up and ran into the cement wall. I resisted for a minute but slowly crept forward. My hand went out and took the bowl.

"Do you recognise me?" the voice appeared out of nowhere, but it was not a ghost, he was talking to me.

"No. Please let me out of here".

His face held shock for a minute but then it went away as if it hadn't even occurred. "You can come out of the room but don't try anything silly, there are too many of us here for you to get far. We need to discuss certain things with you." With that he stood up and smiled. Swiftly he turned around and left the room, as light as a feather as he walked out. I tried to get up but my body was still numb. Finally after summoning enough strength I pulled myself up and walked towards and out the door down a hallway which seemed to go forever. I froze at the end of it and my body started to shake. But regardless I forced myself to turn the corner, waiting to hear my fate.
