The creature beat it's large paws against the hot ground, charging faster and faster along the valley of lost souls. Fire spit up from the cracks as the creature slid through them effortlessly.

Angry shouts and yells called after it as it ran further and further away, but it's ears didn't even prick up at the sounds. They'd never catch it— it was simply impossible.

The creature whined in pain as it felt a sharp feeling go deep into it's shoulder as it ran, but it shook it off and kept pressing on. Faster and faster it went, leaving clouds of dust behind.

Men and women shot their guns at the creature, but a moving target was difficult to catch— especially one as fast as it. The beast kept running, one target in its mind.

"Get back here!" A man shouted.

"Come here you bitch!" Another one screamed. The beast snickered to itself and ran faster, picking up its speed. The sound of hell hounds echoed behind it, and the feeling of their presence washed over the creature.

Without notice, the creature stumbled to the ground as one of the hounds dug it's fangs deep into its leg. The beast howled in pain, kicking the hound off to the side as another one charged. It quickly leapt out of reach and took off, ignoring the immense pain.

The hounds howled behind it and followed close behind, snapping their jaws in defense as they picked up the pace. One of the hounds snarled, nipping at the creatures tail. It whined but pressed further, going quicker and quicker each step.

The beast had no idea what to do. There was nowhere to hide, and the hounds would tear it flesh to flesh. The creature turned its head all around, until a familiar scent picked up in the air. It turned it's head to the side, peering into a dark forest off to the east. It grinned and took off in that direction. It's tongue hung out of its mouth, desperate for a drink, but it couldn't stop now. Not when it was this close to him.

The hounds howled behind it, as did the men and women who continued to chase, but it didn't matter. The beast leapt through a small hole through broken branches, tumbling to the ground and immediately hopping back up to its feet gracefully. It's ears pricked up at the sound of one of the hounds loud whines, and it grinned to itself— one of them got stuck.

The hounds cried out, and the beast heard the footsteps slow to a stop. It continued to run deep into the inky black forest, it's fur blending into the shadows as it ran.

Creatures and demons sounded in the distance, but they wouldn't dare touch it. No, for they knew the pursuit that the creature was in.

Time ran by and it finally found the light of a broken down city. The beast slowed down to a light trot, walking slowly along the broken sidewalks. Two young fallen boys leaned against a wall, and with one glance, moved out of its way. The beast nodded its head in thanks and nudged its head against an old dirty glass door.

The rusty bells jingled loudly, getting the attention of the bellman. He slowly turned his head, squinting.

"Welcome... To... The—"

It growled angrily, and the slow man quietly shut up. He bowed his head slowly, and extended his hand out to the hall. The beast growled once more before roaming down the red and yellow carpeted hall. It tilted its head up, taking a whiff of the air before turning down the hall.

Room by room it went, smelling each one until it reached the very end. The very last room— that's where he must've been. With one last whiff, the wolf knocked its head hard against the door. No answer— she did it again.

"What!" A deep voice grumbled.

Before long, the door swung open, revealing an angry man. His electric blue eyes pierced into hers, and before long, his anger washed away into compassion.

"Oh my god..." His voice shook.

She cracked a weak smile.

Without warning, he wrapped his cold arms around her black fur coat, tears soaking it. He breathed out against her fur, and she whimpered softly.

"I've missed you..."

She pulled away, and looked into his eyes. He furrowed his brows.

"What?" But before long, realization washed over him, and with a shaking voice, he asked, "Where is she?"
