I was laying on a hospital bed, I felt weak and raw, the pain of childbirth still upon me. Monroe was across the room talking on his phone, with his mother. The nurse brought Beauty back into the room. She was so tiny and pale. I picked he up cradling her neck, and holding her close to my body. Outside the hospital room I heard Naedal and a man arguing.
"You can't keep doing this, it's her third cycle, this time loop will be detrimental to her health," Naedal whispered.
"Netora, this is not up discussion if it was not for you, she wouldn't be in this situation. If you would have kept a watchful eye on her and made sure she didn't get pregnant in the first place causing the government millions of dollars, her offspring wouldn't have to pay her debts. Anything that happens from here on out is on you," the man said, then I heard footsteps retreating. My stomach dropped, and I felt numb, I tightened my hold on Beauty until I felt her squirm and give out a little cry. I kissed her forehead and rocked her gently. I looked at Monroe to see if heard any of that but he was still in a heated argument with his mother over the choice of our baby's name; Beauty Rosella Evans-Kingsmen.
"Beauty," was the word that escaped my lips as I sat up abruptly from my dream. Sweat soaked my body as I thought about the events in my dream. I tapped Monroe to wake him, I groggily spoke up.
"Babe it's like 3 a.m,"he said opening one eye to look at the alarm clock on my night stand.
"It's way too early in your pregnancy for you to start having cravings."
"No this isn't about food, I had a bad dream," I stated.
He turned on his back wrapping his arm around my waist.
"Tell me all about it."
I recounted all the events in my dream using my hands for emphasis, when I stopped I looked down at Monroe who looked pretty spooked by it all.
"See, what I mean, bad," I said.
"Uhm... that's really interesting Whit, uhm... er... it's um probably just hormones or something, but remember it's just a dream," I nodded as he stammered to an end.
"Let's go back to bed now, we have some shopping to do tomorrow, for the baby." He said quickly before turning around and going back to sleep almost instantly. I layed down too feeling restless, upset, and suspicious.
These dreams feel like a lot more reality.
