Love. Is that what its called? Or was it just a relationship that was expected to be like that. She did not know. Whatever it was, she was being completely devoted. Things were going really well. She was living in a fairytale world made up of sand castles which glew of bright hopes and fountains which splashed puddles of happiness. He was her knight in shining armor who cared more than needed, loved more than expected and protected more than demanded. He made her life more easier. He was like a support system in every situation of her life. But, time, it changes circumstances and situations. It came more or less like a stone that had  broken a window of her sand castle which she set right with a few reparations. She would spend day in and out to save her sandcastle from any harms. There was nothing that could really destroy her sandcastle, only that could was her own mind. Alas, it was made of hope,  and hope never dies. It was the day when she was infomed about his disease. He was suffering from a disease which couldn't be cured. He sufferd from cancer. He, was her dad. She loved him from the bottom of her heart. She could do anything to get him saved. She wanted that her knight, her hero remained immortal. She couldn't afford to lose him. Little could she defy the laws of nature. It did what it wanted. Only if the almighty wished, he would survive. The word "love" did not seem to be enough for the immense joy she experienced everytime she saw a smile on his pale face. She would try her level best to bring him happiness which directly gave double the happiness to her.
Things started getting worse. He was admitted more than a dozen times in the ICU. All treatments and procedures turned useless as he had crossed his last stage. Life had just 2 months to offer him. He accepted the fact that he was not going to stay for long. The dad and daughter bond cannot be explained in mere words. She spent all her time with him. She gave up her teen life enjoyments just so that she could get to spend more quality time with him as she was not left with quantity. Days passed by. Things worsened. But she was satisfied with whatever she had done. She had no regrets. She knew it was meant to be this way and it would be. She was mature enough to understand the fact that life is not permanent.  We have to let go. There is some point of time, where we need to move on. Moving on becomes the best option. But memories remain. The mind tends to remember only two parts of any relationship - the emotinal peak and the end.  She had both  parts very well spent. The emotional peak was the happiest of all and the end was the most satisfactory, she had done the best she could before his soul departed. Her dad, her knight, her hero was no more. But he remained in her memories forever. She thanked him for everything that he had taught her. She had evolved to be a brave and strong girl after being through such a trying phase of life. Her only goal in life was to be happy. Genuinely,  intensely and consistently happy. He had prepared her for the unforseen expedition that life would be. She was all set to accept and embark on her journey. The strongest drug that could ever exist for a human being was another human being.  Her drug was her her hero, her DAD.
