Diggy's POV

No way this was her father! We were standing in front of the one and only multi billion dollar Joshua Blake. He was a big deal not only in Jersey but the rest of the world too. If he even mentioned your name, it could make or break you. That's how powerful he was. Why was she working though and how come she didn't tell me?

Yn: "Dad, what are you doing here?"

Mr. Blake: "Michael called me with some concerns."

Yn: "Of course he did."

Mr. Blake: "What does that mean?"

Yn: "Nothing. Dad, this is Daniel Simmons."

Diggy: "Hello, sir. Nice to meet you."

I reached out and shook his hand.

Mr. Blake: "I've heard a lot about you but that's a firm handshake young man."

Yn: "What do you mean you heard a lot about him?"

Mr. Blake: "Not the concern right now. May I ask why Michael felt the need to call me?"

Yn: "Why else? He calls you when he can't get his way with me and you always fall for it."

As she and her dad continue to talk, the conversation started getting heated.

Yn: "Can we just drop it."

Mr. Blake: "Fine. I'll see you tonight. He turned and nodded towards me, "Daniel."

With that, he walked himself out and she started putting the food up. I helped and we finished in silence. When we were finished she started walking out of the kitchen but I grabbed her hand.

Yn: "Daniel, please don't."

I let her go and she continued to her room. I decided to start cooking and check on her later. Once the food was done, I made her a plate and some orange juice and took it up to her room. As I approached, I could hear her talking on the phone.

Yn: "That's bull and you know it. You told my dad some crazy story just like you did with Zach. What happened to you? I never knew you could get like this."

Silence

Yn: "I did that to save myself from being hurt Michael. Long distance was too much for the both of us and you know that. Then you decided to go international. How was I suppose to cope with that?"

Silence

Yn: "Yeah, okay. Well the wait is over and I'll be damn if you mess this up for me. Once my dad found out you wanted to pursue basketball instead of your doctorate, he dismissed you anyway. He only talks to you because our families have been friends since before we were born so don't get full of yourself."

Wow her dad didn't like him because he didn't pursue a doctorate? That's harsh. Wonder what he really thinks about me now.

Silence

Yn: "That's exactly how I feel."

I walked in and she hung up. Her eyes were red so I knew she was crying at one point.

Diggy: "You still hungry?"

Yn: "Starving."

I handed her the plate and set the juice on the nightstand beside her.

Yn: "Thanks. Want to join me," she asked with a slight smile.

Diggy: "Sure."

I went downstairs and grabbed my plate. When I got back she patted the bed for me to come sit with her.
