Chapter 8- What Happened?

*Bianca's pov*

It was about 2 in the morning and Dewayne nor Deonte were back yet, and honestly I'm freaking out. Aaleeyah and I were laying in my bed just waiting for something, but for the past two hours we haven't gotten a call, a text, a facetime. Nothing. All of the sudden my phone rang, I picked my phone up out of my lap and saw it was an unsaved number. I paused the movie and answered my phone, Aaleeyah sat up and just stared at me hoping for something.

*phone conversation*
-Hello?
-Hello, Is this Bianca Jones?
-May I ask who is calling.
-Hi Miss Jones I am Doctor Harrison here at West Compton Hospital, I was calling this evening to inform you that Dewayne Carter was brought in about 15 minutes ago. We found his phone and saw that he had a missed call from you so we called you, he was also brought in with another young man. If you could please come down here as fast as you can, neither of them are doing well.

I hung the phone up, and then I looked down at my ring. I can't lose him, I thought, then felt a tear hit my hand. Aaleeyah came over and wiped my eyes.

"Come on babygirl the faster we get there the faster everything gets better, I promise." She said walking over to put her shoes on.

I stood up and walked over to the dresser and some sweatpants on over my boy shorts, I put my slides on. I grabbed my purse and put my phone in it, I went into Penelope's room and told her that we would be back in the morning and that I would text her with any updates. We walked downstairs and into the garage, we went over to my car and got in. I turned on the car and headed in the direction, I started over thinking everything. What if he doesn't make it, what if he can't do anything, what if he goes into Acoma and doesn't wake up, what if, what if, what if. I was thinking so much that I did not even realize Aaleeyah was trying to talk to me.

"Bianca....Bianca...." She said trying to get my attention.
"Huh?" I said stopping at the red stop light.
"Listen to me, look down at that ring on your finger." She said holding my hand up to my face. I looked down at my hand. "Now why do you think Dewayne put that there? He put that there because he knows that you are going to be there whenever something happens to him, he knows that no matter what that you are going to be there. Now you have to be strong for him, we're going to go into this hospital with our heads up high even if we want them to be low. We are they're rocks right now and that is why we are with them." She said as I put the car in park since we just pulled up to the hospital.
"Ok, your right. I need to be his rock right now." I said grabbing my purse getting out of the car.

We got out of the car and I locked it, we walked into the emergency part of the hospital. I walked over to the desk and asked for Dewayne and Deonte's room. I stood there for a good minute before she noticed me.

"How can I help you this morning ma'am?" The lady before the desk said looking up at me.
"Yes, I was wondering were Dewayne Carter and Deonte Allen rooms are." I said leaning onto the desk.
"Ma'am they have been in surgey for about an hour ago and by the looks of they're files there is no telling when they will be done." The receptionist said scrolling on her computer.
"Oh god, no." I said slidding down the wall starting to cry. Aaleeyah walked over to me.
"Come on Bianca you gotta get up. Come on lets go over to chairs."she said pulling me off of the floor.
"They said they don't know when they will be out of surgery, and they went in an hour ago." I said as she pulled me up.
"Bianca." She said as we got over to a set of chairs.
"Yes?" I said sitting down.
"You remember what we talked about in the car right. " she said gettin her phone out of her purse.
I looked down at my promise ring and nodded.
"Then you can't do that, I want to break down and cry right now too. But I don'tyou know why? Cause I know Deonte doesn't want me to. Now what would do you think Dewayne would do if he saw you do that just now." She said staring at me.
"He would've told me to get my dumb ass up and tell me to stop crying, that its all going to be ok." I said leaning back in the chair.
"Exactly, but now we just wait. I'll run over to McDonald's and get us something to eat while you call everyone and tell them to get they asses over here." She said grabbing her purse getting up as I handed her my keys.
"Alright." I said wiping my face grabbingmy phone.
