CHAPTER 4

~Scarlett~

"Because I kind of like Taylor," I blurted out without even thinking. When I realized what I just said, my face turned exactly to the color of my hair. The look on Snow's face would have been funny if the cause of it wasn't because of what I just said.

"What?!" Snow screamed at me, instantly stopping all of us from our tracks with her loud voice. She looked at me, then at Taylor, who's wrapped forehead rose in surprise because of Snow's outburst, then back at me. What she is doing is so obvious that it was a really big relief that none of them caught on.

"Are you alright, Snow?" Savannah asked her, her perfect face etched with pure concern. Savannah's words seemed to snap Snow back to reality because she shook her head and flashed Savannah a hesitant smile.

"Just peachy," she said, the smile clearly forced on her porcelain white face. None of them noticed except for me, probably since I have lived longer with Snow than anybody else. Or longer than anybody tries to. Savannah shrugs her shoulders and continued to lead the way to wherever the hell it is that we're going. I was just about to follow her when Snow quickly yanked me back, almost making me topple on the ground.

"Scarlett, I think you've missed the part about your twin sister, also known as me, hating the guy that you currently have a crush on, also known as freakin ego-maniac Taylor," she whispered sharply to me almost yelling his name at the last part. I looked at her one blue and one violet eyes that are filled with anger, labeling myself an idiot for blurting that I kind of liked Taylor.

"No, I haven't missed that part," I said cooly, angering her more. Shit, Scarlett, why'd you have to do that? Angering Snow even more, especially when it's about liking guys, is seriously close to being suicidal. Gah! I'm so stupid.

"Then what the heck are you thinking?! Do you want me to die or something!? The next time he carries a freaking scythe, he might not be as lucky as before to cut my freaking hair, and instead he'll chop my freaking head off!" she cried loudly. I looked ahead of me with wide eyes and saw Savannah, Skylee, Trent and Taylor about ten yards away, giving us weird glares that made me blush even harder. This is getting out of hand.

"Can we talk about this later," I sharply whispered to her, fully aware that Savannah and the others' eyes are still on us. Then I added before she could say anything, "Privately."

Her eyes were telling me that she was about to disagree but instead she said, "Fine." Once she said that one word, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"Hey, are you guys coming or not?!" Trent yelled. We turn our head towards their directions and smiled sweetly. We walked to where they are, our smile still intact while four words repeatedly sang in my brain, some words changing a bit. Must not act suspicious. Do not act suspicious. Do not act suspicious. Must hate Taylor Black. Or I will die. Killed by my sister. What a lovely death. Wait just a minute? What am I thinking? Do not act suspicious.

"We should've left them," Skylee whispered softly, soft enough that no one else other than Snow and I could hear, one of the benefits of a being a survivor and a killer Saibro. I suppressed the urge to throttle her since I promised to Savannah that I won't pick a fight, and proceeded to calm down Snow, who never promised anything to Savannah so she would most likely actually throttle her. Savannah looked back from Snow then to Skylee and then to me, giving us all a stern glare before continuing our journey to a place that neither Snow nor I know.

Twenty minutes passed of us walking and me wondering, isn't there any form of transportation in this blasted haven other than walking? Everyone that passed us are either running, walking or skipping like their lives are the most perfect thing in the world. Why isn't there any blasted horses or carriages? Can Skylee shift back to an elephant, please? Sure, it's not the most enjoyable or comfortable ride in the world, but any kind transportation right now would be heavenly.
