Don't let me go...

"If our loves a tragedy why are you my clarity?" I sang along with my iPod. As I was singing I didn't notice my shoes on my floor and lets just say my face now hurts. Whoops.

Why am I so happy you ask? Well my dear I'll tell you! Its the last day of school! I guess my goal for this summer is to get better balance. Pssh nah! Bad balance keeps makes life and exciting! A little more painful, but what ever!

"Sam! Stop your stupid singing or I'll make you stop!" My younger brother, Ethan, yelled at me from down stairs.

"I'll stop my sining when you get taller than me!" I yelled back. Stupid, stupid fourteen year olds. He should know to respect his elders! I'm only sixteen, but still!

I grabbed a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt off the floor. I threw them on and walked out of my room. I walked into the bathroom across the hall and in the mirror and saw a girl with black hair and green eyes. I put in my contacts, but I didn't care about my hair or make up. On my way down the step I threw up my hair in a messy pony tail. A few stray hairs fell in my face.

Once I was in the kitchen my mom was already clearing the table. "Hey! What about my breakfast?"

"You were to slow. SO I gave it to Ethan." My mom said simply. I groaned out of annoyance and grabbed an apple from the counter. I heard a car honk outside and I knew it was my best friend, Trey. "Bye! Treys here!" I yelled out when I walked out the front door. Trey kept honking at me as I walked to his car. "Dammit dude! I'm coming don't get your panties in a twist!" I yelled at him.

"They're boxers!" He yelled back. I chuckled. His voice had a southern accent, since he grew up in South Carolina. but moved here last year. I climbed into his car and slammed the door.

"Hey! Be nice to Betsy!"

I just looked at him. "Betsy. Really?"

"What?? Betsy's a nice name!" He shot back.

"Yeah. For a cow" I laughed. He just glared at me and turned on the radio. Of course it was on some country station. He started to sing along. "Ahhh! My ears are bleeding!" I yelled. He laughed at me and continued singing.

He knew I was joking. Trey actually sang really well. His voice was like velvet. He kept singing. In the middle of some song I didn't know, I switched it to a pop station. One direction started to play. Trey groaned while I started to sing along.

As I was singing he yelled "Ahh! My ears are bleeding" In a girly voice. I rolled my eyes. Trey and I were both music geeks. When Trey moved to our small town of Garret, Pennsylvainia, he was all shy and pretty much a loner. Even though he was hot. We met in Mrs.Rumonds music class. In her class every new student has to sing a song infront of the class. Trey was to nervous to do it on his own. So I went to the front of the class and we sang Need you now by Lady Antebellum. We've been best friends ever since!

"And let me kiss you!!!" I sang to Trey.

He made a kissy face at me and laughed.  We sat in comfortable silence until we pulled into the school. We parked and got out of the car. Trey got the usual lustful stares, while I got the hateful glares. I knew why. All the girls at school were inlove with Trey. Even the teachers!!! It's gross really.

We reached my locker, which was basically our locker since Trey was to lazy to go to his. The first bell rung. "I'll see ya later, hun," Trey told me and gave me a half hug before walking down the hall way towards his first class. I laughed to my self and grabbed my books. I closed my locker and started walking towards my class.

"So. When are you going to tell him." A girl popped up next to me.

"Jesus!!!!" I jumped and place my hand over my heart, "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I asked the girl. She giggled and said "Sorry, I was just curious about when you and Trey were going to get together. I mean it's obvious you like him."

"What?? I don't like him!" I was blushing like a tomato. The girl obviously didn't believe me.

"That doesn't sound very convincing." She told me with an amused face.

"I-I'm not! We're just friends!" Great now I was stuttering.

"Mhm. And I'm the queen of England!" She laughed. "Okay. Who are you any way?" I asked.

"Oh! I'm Michelle." Okay. That still doesn't help me.

I finally got to my class. "Well it was nice talking to you Michelle, but this is my class." I said pointing towards the door.

"Okay! I'll talk to you later!"

"Sure..not" I said as she walked away.  That was weird. I thought to myself as I sat down in my seat. Though one question kept popping up in my thoughts through out class.

"Do I actually like Trey?"

And the thing was that I didn't have an answer.

***Lunch Time***

After my first three classes I was still thinking about what Michelle said. I've never thought about Trey and I being together, but I have to admit that the thought of it makes me have butterflies in my stomach. I started to think about Trey and I holding hands, kissing, going on dates, him and I walking down the hallways with his arm around me. I felt a stupid smile spread across my face. Maybe I did like Trey. I mean its impossible not to. He's sweet, smart, funny, attractive. and he can sing and play guitar.

"What are you smiling about?" A familiar southern voice whispered into my ear. I almost jumped out of my skin.

"You dick! What is with people scaring me today!" I playfully yelled at him, hitting his chest. And don't think I didn't notice how hard his chest was.

"Sorry! Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!" He said putting his arm around my shoulders. I felt my face heat up and I knew that my face was as red as a tomato.

"Yeah, Yeah." I said shaking him off.

"So what were you being all smiley about?"

"It was nothing." I said not so convincingly.

"Mhm." He replied back. We walked to our usual table  Our other Trey fist bumped our friend Jay. It was kind of funny to see Trey and Jay sitting next to each other. Jay has blonde hair, blue eyes, skinny, and is suuuuuuper gay. . While Trey has short Light brown hair, brown eyes, is muscular and is straight, I hope. .

My friend, Lisa, sat next to me. She was Hispanic with gorgeous brown eyes and long black hair. She was loud and obnouxis, but that's why I love her! Though Lisa and Trey don't get  along, like at all. They fight all the time. Even to the point yelling at each other in the middle of a movie theater. Yes, that's happened. So lunch with the two of them together is usually entertaining.

"Why are you staring at Trey?" Lisa whispered into my ear. Trey looked at me with a smirk. Well I guess he heard.

"What? I'm not. I mean, like, why would I be?" I stuttered. God, I need to keep myself in check.

"I don't know why either. He looks like a potato." Lisa said more to Trey than me. Trey and Lisa started to argue like normal. I just shook my head and laughed. Jay and I started to talk about what we were planning to do over the summer. All of us were in the middle of our conversation, more like argument for Trey and Lisa. When it walked over to our table.

By it, I mean the school skank. Lizzie. She's a bitch and she has a massive crush on Trey. Every time she see's Trey talking to any other girl, especially me.

"Hey Trey, baby" Lizzie spoke trying to be sexy, but failing hopelessly.

"Hi, Lizzie." Trey said back.

"I haven't seen you in awhile. Where have you been babe?"

"I've, uhh, been hanging out with Sam." Aww poor boy was trying to be nice.

"Ugh, Why do you keep hanging out with her? Especially when you could be with me." She basically growled.

I rolled my eyes. She was starting to annoy me. So I got up from the table and made some excuse about having to use the bathroom. My mind was racing. Why was I mad? Why did I care if she flirted with him. I don't have the right to be pissed off, but I still am. Do I actually like Trey? I'm so confused. My mind started to race again, but the thought of Lizzie flirting with Trey popped up in my mind again. And I finally had my answer.

I actually had a crush on my best friend.
