Chapter 1

As all of the mistiers walk into class with their weapons, they are surprised to see they have a sub, rather than their usual crazy doctor Stein.

Of course, Stein would never be absent for just any reason. Today is something special, for many different reasons. Lord Death had a mission for Stein, something that he thought only the scientist would be able to handle.

A hospital, one that seems so innocent and kind, has had some rumors thrown around. People had been claiming that there was illegal, cruel, and gruesome testing happening to the patients inside, and that it ought to be stopped.

This is something that Lord Death had to consider deeply before he finally decided that Stein just might be perfect for a job like this. Though, he did worry that he could possibly be the worst person for the job as well.

Stein had taken the job without question, the thought of going into a hospital to see such sights exciting him instantly. Making his way there now, he knew he would have no trouble getting inside, considering he is quiet a mad doctor himself.

He is right, of course, and when he arrives he's greeted by another man in a long white coat, who allows him in without question.

When he gets inside, all he does is walk passed rooms, peeking in at each patient. Yes, indeed everyone of these adults are going through much pain, every room is filled with it's own horror scene of blood, mutation, and pain. Stein frowns in disgust as he walks. "How unacceptable. At least when I dissect Im sure to use proper pain killers and sterile equipment! These people have no respect for each one of these beautiful bodies..." He says to himself, a small grin forming on his face as he finished. Looking around, he notices that this job wouldn't be as hard as Death might have thought. The doctors were all fairly weak, obviously oblivious to his presence, and all of them had underestimation for the madman. "Alright everyone. This hospital is mine now, I think after some proper cleaning I can use this for dissecting anything I would like!" He announces, grinning at them all.

He gets mixed reactions at this; some doctors run, others look at him as if he was crazy, while the rest pay no attention at all. Quickly and simply, Stein uses some of his power to kill off each doctor, one by one, with hardly an effort. By the time he finishes, he calls in some assistance to take each person away to be tested, assessed, and taken care of. As much as he would have liked to stay and test these people himself, he knows he had other things he can do.

Soon the assistance comes, and without a word Stein walks out as they start to take the people away. He listens carefully to each individual person, action, and word as he walks. Just as he's about to walk out, however, he stops in his tracks at one sound in particular. It was....crying? Why would this make him stop, nearly everyone in this dreaded building is moaning and crying in pain. But this one... Could it be?

Walking to what seems to be an abandoned room, he hears a faint sobbing from the corner. He walks in slowly, his face emotionless as he looks around, attempting to find the source of the sound.

Sure enough, as he moves inside, he finally sees it. A small child in the corner of the room, not in good shape. She's crying, hugging her knees, and it's very obvious that she has had more than a few tests done on her. Stein is more than shocked. Adults, animals, those things are perfectly okay for testing. But...a child? An image of perfection, always so pure and innocent, always so perfect at such a young age... Treated in this way? He slowly approaches her until he's crouching directly in front of her, himself quiet with a shocked emotion. She slowly looks up at him, nothing but fear and pain in her eyes. Seeing his white coat only makes her fear more, and she holds up two fragile hands. "N-No, please... I'm sorry... I k-know I'm a failure... I-I'm sorry the t-test didn't work..." She mumbles weakly, tears pouring from her eyes. Still in shock, Stein lifts a hand up slowly and strokes her cheek very lightly. "You're...not a failure... You're... Perfect."

And in that moment, for whatever reason, Stein lifts the child very carefully, holding her as if she was a baby. When he walks out of the hospital room, one of the assistance helpers stops him. "Sir... Want me to take her?" He asks, holding out his arms. Stein looks at his arms for a moment, not saying anything. After taking one last glance at the child, he looks back at the helper with a grin on his face. "That won't be needed, I'll handle this one."
