I'm tired of begging for the things that I want

“I’m not going to leave you.” I whispered. Tony and I stayed hugging each other for a couple of minutes before I slowly broke away from him but I didn’t go far: I cupped his face in my hands as I wiped the small traces of tears from his cheeks and he kept his arms around my waist.

“Is that why you were ignoring everyone? You didn’t think I wanted you?” I asked softly. He nodded.

“I didn’t think you’d ever take me back…even if I broke up with Stephanie…and I wouldn’t blame you, but I love you so much Allison and I want you back.” I bit my bottom lip.

“Well considering you just got out of a relationship Tony I think it’s best you take some time to heal. And then we’ll work on us, okay? We’ll take everything slowly, but I think you need time to heal first. You need a break from dating before we come back together.” He nodded and bit his lip slowly.

“I can do that…I miss you and Charlotte so much, can I stay over tonight?”

“Yes…and then I think tomorrow, we should go see Mama Perry. And before we do anything else, you should text everyone and let them know you’re still alive…including Stephanie.” He nodded and I kissed his cheek gently before telling him to get to it. I watched him grab his phone and send a mess text to everyone and then he packed a bag for a couple of nights.

“Don’t forget your phone charger.” I handed the white chord to him.

“Thanks Al, sometimes I don’t know what I’d do without you.” He laughed.

“Lose your head.” I joked. He smiled.

“Yeah probably.” He strapped his bag to his shoulders before we left his bedroom. He grabbed his keys and locked up behind us before we went and got in his Tahoe. He threw his luggage in the back before we climbed in and he started the drive back to my place.

“So who’s Charlotte with right now?” Tony asked.

“Jaime, he came to spend some time with me and then after Stephanie came and talked with me at the park, he took her home so I could come talk with you.” I replied.

“Did she…seem mad or anything?”

“No…she was a little sad, but she told me she has no regrets, especially because you made the decision to break up. She apologized to me, told me you explained the entire situation to her and then she understood everything and actually told me she admired me for my strength and the sacrifices I made for you so you could pursue your dreams. I don’t know…she seemed really sweet. I told her to contact me if she ever needed anything. And Charlotte met her…the realization that she really was yours struck almost immediately.” I explained.

Tony nodded.

“It’s the eyes…” He sighed. I smiled.

“And the way she acts shy, and your smile. It’s just obvious.” Tony chuckled slightly.

“Do you feel better now? You know…since we talked?”

“Yeah…yeah I do.” I squeezed his hand and Tony brought it up to his lips kissing it gently.

“Thank you Al.”

“You’re welcome Tone.” When we showed up at my place, Tony parked in the driveway and we both climbed out after he killed the engine. He grabbed his backpack and then we both walked up to the front door. I opened it and could smell food immediately and it smelled delicious.

“Jaime!?” I yelled.

“In the kitchen!” I heard tiny footsteps and then Charlotte came running over.
