Make It Through This

A little girl, eight years old,

And coming close to death.

Her mother was all she had,

And watched as she struggled for every breath.

She said, "Mama, hold my hand cause I'm trying to be brave.

But I'm scared about whether I'll die or I'll be saved."

And her mother just smiled without saying a word.

Kissed her forehead, and then seemed like she hadn't heard.

But then she said...

She falls asleep,

And the mother calls the nurse in.

Or she'll fall apart."
