Lizeth was a normal girl, lived with her mother, brother and father in their mansion. She didn't have any friends, not that she minded. She needed her parents, her brother and that's it. She was perfectly happy.
One day, in the middle of August, Lizeth was outside playing with her father in their yard. She smiled as he kissed her forehead, "I'm sorry my dear, but I must check on your mother. You know how ill she has gotten." He said, breaking into a fit of coughs.
Her eyes filled with concern for her dear father. She didn't know why her mother and father were sick, but she was fine. She never asked her brother if he was sick. Her father smiled weakly, "I'm alright Lizzy. You know I'll cure this eventually. Why don't you go play with Leon? After all, he is your twin." His voice hoarse from coughing. Lizeth nodded and ran off to find her brother.
Unbeknownst to Lizeth, her parents, though her father is a doctor, can't fight the sickness. After awhile, they grew desperate. Lizeth a few days later was playing with Leon in the yard. Lizeth giggled as her brother fell down when he chased her. She hurried to help him up, worried that he might be injured. He stood up, his short hair slightly messier, but no injuries visible to her.
He smiled, flopping down on the ground and gazing at the sky, "Hey Liz?" He started as she laid down beside him, her long hair creating a cushion under her.
"Yes Leon?" She asked, hoping to figure out what her brother wanted. He sighed, "Is mother and father going to be alright? I know they told us not to worry, but I cannot help but do so!"
He waved his hand as he spoke. Lizeth wasn't sure. Her heart said they would, though her mind said they were half way gone. She began to cry, "Brother, should we sneak to town and find that scientist? I'm sure he will help!"
Leon nodded and stood up, "Let's hurry along before we are called for supper!" He exclaimed, causing his sister to stop crying and smile.
This was their first mistake.
If they would have just told their parents of their plan, things could have gone differently. They would have know about their parents leaving that night to find a better doctor.
When they reached the mansion of the scientist, only a little girl with long black hair answered. She smiled, "Yes? Who is it?" She asked.
Leon smiled, his blue hair fluttered in the breeze, "Hi! You must be Aya. We are the Abyss twins. We are here to see if your father will help our parents."
He stated and she nodded, leading us inside. Lizeth made a mental note of how the girl walked. It sounded like glass clicking on the floor. She found this quite odd indeed, but didn't dare ask the girl why it sounded so.
This was the second mistake.
If little Lizeth had asked about it, poor Aya would have told them why and scared them off. Maybe they would still be safe and sound, not a care in the world.
She lead them to the basement where the sound of a chainsaw was very prominent. Lizeth shivered and clung to her brother. Aya turned to them, "I forgot something upstairs. Please, do not bother father til I return." She asked of us before running off. Her brother didn't listen.
Leon sighed, "On a normal circumstance I would wait, but our parents are hurting. Come on Lizeth, enough stalling." He urged her and Lizeth eventually nodded as they approached the door. Leon reached out a hand, and used the lion head knocker to state their presence.
This was the third and final mistake.
If they waited like they were told, they wouldn't have met such a fate. They'd be getting their treatment for their mother, and moving home. That would be the best outcome, but it is not so.
