"Okay, bye-bye now!" I said to the parents as they left, it's only a little bit that I have to babysit these two and they got to go trick-or-treating so I figure I could make it a fun rest of the night.
"Can we eat our candy now?" Jin asked.
"Can we, can we, can we, can we, please, please, please, please!" Gin followed up with.
"Alright," I said chuckling, "You both can have ten pieces each, and only if I can have some too!" I said, as they soured their faces, they agreed and began to laugh as they ran to the table to pour the both of their bags out.
"We got a ton this year!" Gin exclaimed.
"Even more if we put ours together." Jin said.
They started to pick and choose at which pieces they wanted, which pieces they were going to push away while making an 'ew' face at it.
Ironically enough the both of them picked the same ten pieces of candy to eat, no surprise as to it being all chocolate. After making some heavenly smiles and laughs it became the boys' bedtime.
"Go wash up, and I''ll read the both of you a story." I said as they both got up instantly and went to go wash their faces and everything they do before bed.
Not ten minutes later they both came out in the pjamas and clean faces.
"Which story shall it be tonight boys?" I asked, playing dumb. They always wanted the same story every night. As if it were a new one.
"Red Riding Hood!" They both shouted, while looking at each other and giggling.
I smiled and began to pull the book off the shelf, while reading it to them they both fell asleep within halfway of being through. I don't think they even know the ending of the book.
I shurgged and pushed the book back on the shelf whil slowly closing the door on my way out. Slowly making my way to the living area, I clicked on the telly. The news was on, and with it being this late I doubt anything else would be on, so, why not.
"Good evening everyone in Chestervile, it's been a wonderful hallows even for everyone. The Rey family was striked the other night with the loss of their twenty-six year old son, lost the same way as the last few murders. Hands and feet missing, along with their head in place with a jack o'lantern. Police have named him "The Carver" there is no report of any leads to finding him, but we all have hopes that he will be caught soon."
The static hit the telly, it had started to rain not too long ago, and I'd bet my life that the weather for this upcoming week was going to be the next thing said.
"Oh well." I said aloud. I decided to turn off the telly and make some tea, maybe a good book for the night. "I'll stay up for another hour, or so just incase the boys wake up." I said to myself, mostly as a reminder.
It had been mostly quiet for the longest time until the thunder and lightening began to pick up throughout a time of twenty or so minutes. I shurgged it off, thinking it was normal. It always rained and had one or two nasty storms throughout the night of October, just as well as Halloween night itself.
Just before dozing off, a loud noise struck through the house, shaking it even.
"Creepy." I said, it was a bit, a loud noise shakes the house on Halloween night. Must be God. Shaking my head I just went back to my book, picking up the candy the boys left out, and putting my tea up. I left a Twix, and a small pack of M&Ms out for myself. The boys did say it was okay if I could have a few pieces. Making sure everything looked okay when I was done, I went to sleep on the couch.
Ahh!
All I could hear we're screams, but not from the house. I'd only guess from my dreams. I made my way over to the coffee machine and start a hot cup for myself. Seeing as the boys were too young to be drinking that kind of stuff.
I did my daily routine of different things finsihinh up I started my way to Gin and Jin's room, I creaked open the door only to see that their window was shattered and they were missing. Hearing a car drive up to the parking lot, I rushed outside on their porch, standing in apaullment the jack o'lanterns were missing and a black cat slithering by stopping only once to meow at myself and keep its way on.
Hello! This was my Halloween story for you guys', because well, it's Halloween losers, have a good one and stay safe! xoxotheauthour
