Penny puts her hand in mine as we walk down the Brighton Pier, and I felt the electricity run through my body. A swarm of butterflies flew in my stomach as it flipped over and over again. Who knew a girl like Penny could make me feel this way? She held Princess Autumn in her other arm cuddling onto it as if it was her child. Bella had told me to bring Princess Autumn, because she'd missed Penny. We walked over the ticket booth to get our wristbands to go on every ride on the Brighton Pier. When we finished getting the wristbands, we got on the first ride of the day. We got on to the carousel. I hopped on the middle horse as Penny placed Princess Autumn onto the horse like it was getting a ride.
"Penny! You can't do that! We didn't buy a wristband for Princess Autumn!" I shouted to Penny which lead to parents giving us weird looks and children laughing at us.
"Princess Autumn wants a ride, though," she said before hopping onto the horse Princess Autumn was on.
The horses started moving around and around as Penny and I laughed through the whole ride. I felt a warm feeling listening to Penny laughing. She was amazing, and I couldn't believe I got to find a girl like her.
We got onto the next ride which happened to be the "Twister." Penny got in first and held Princess Autumn on her lap. I got on after and put the bar down as we settled in the seat. We sat there hand in hand talking about the looks people gave us when we got off the carousel. Laughter was the only thing that came out of my mouth as Penny talked, and after a while, it was the only thing that came out of Penny's mouth, too. We laughed till our sides hurt as the ride started to begin. The ride slanted a little pulling her to my side. I looked over to see her grinning out of excitement from the ride while laughing because of the fun she was having. How was I so lucky?
After the ride, we got off, heading to "The Dome." "The Dome" was one arcade on the Brighton Pier. The arcade held a bunch of games, but the one we choose to play was air hockey. We stood in front of each other holding the mallets in our hands getting ready to hit the puck into the other's goal. It was a competition between Penny and I to get the thin black piece of plastic past the other into the tiny slot that declared one of us had won. We stared into each other's eyes, declaring war from just looking at each other.
"Noah Flynn, I will beat your butt at this game, and when I do, you will owe me a teddy bear," she said trying to look serious before letting out a small laugh.
"You think so Penny Porter? I won't let that happen, because I am the champion at air hockey, and I'd like to keep that honor," I told her with a grin on my face.
"Well, you'll be losing that title to me, today," she replied before hitting the button that let us begin the war.
After 10 minutes of laughing and me getting my butt kicked by Penny, I'd lose with Penny winning every round we had. Penny couldn't stop laughing, because I'd just lost to her when I told her I was the champion at air hockey. Who knew Penny was such an amazing player at air hockey? Penny dragged me away from the table, taking me to a ring toss game. The prizes ranging from tiny to enormous. Penny looked at every bear, scanning her bright blue eyes over them to find the one she loved. From minions to cats to dogs, she still didn't look like she loved them, until her eyes scanned over the giant teddy bear. It looked like a normal brown teddy bear, but it was enlarged about 100 times to be the size of her. Her eyes grew brighter and sparkled as she stared at it. She held her finger out and pointed to it showing that was the one she wanted.
"Noah! I want that one!" She shouted while grinning worth the biggest smile in the world.
"Sure thing, Penny. I did lose," I said before paying the man $3 for 10 rings.
After spending $30, I got all 10 rings on 10 bottles. The man looked surprised that I got the last ring onto the bottle, because it almost didn't make it. Penny squealed at my side, happy she was getting the giant bear.
"Noah! You did it!" She squealed before hugging my side tightly.
I hugged her right back before kissing the top of her head. She looked up at me after a second before getting on her tippy toes and kissing me. I was surprised at first, but I kissed her back. The electricity ran through my veins, spreading through my whole body. The butterflies in my stomach started to form again with knots forming on top of them. Before anything else could happen, the man cleared his throat and held out the bear for Penny. We pulled away looking at each other while smiling. I took the bear from the man before giving it to Penny to cuddle with. With Princess Autumn in one arm and the bear in the other, Penny and I walked down to the pier together. The sun was now touching the water that crashed on the gravel, which meant the day was ending. The sound of the seagulls were less common, because they'd gone to bed.
"Thank you for this amazing day, Noah," Penny said kissing me one last time.
"No, thank you, Penny," I replied kissing her back.
"I love you!" She shouted before running off to catch her ride.
"I love you, too."
