Writing a Novel containing love/attraction/lust/whatever

Its like a s’more.

Everyone loves them (those who don’t are lying to make themselves feel better)

Everyone wants more.

Alright Here is some advice I will give.

The plot is important. Like the graham cracker, it holds the whole s’more/story together. A nonexistent plot/graham cracker with just burn up and fail like a child trying to eat a marshmallow right off the hot poker. It just is THAT important to have some sort of a plot.

Alright, now my favorite part. The marsh mellow. Its yummy gooey-ness is the perfect comparison to character and character development.  *Gasp!* Not the dreaded character development! Cue epic music of darkness. Character development is seemingly lacking at this website. Which is a shame because that is what makes stories that much better. As you toast your marsh mellow over the fire, you want a golden mallow. Slow and steady you make your mallow (and character) into a brilliantly toasted (and changed) character/mallow.

AND NOW THE CHOCOLATE! That small slice of semi melted chocolate is just the last element to this comparison. Chocolate and emotions are deeply tied. For the men out there, do not come in between a woman and her chocolate whilst she is PMSing.. Anyways, overly dramatizing everything makes your story seem, well childish. On the other hand having just one or even no emotion is just blah. Chocolate is not blah! So, as you go out and explore your writing skills and refine them make sure you find that just right amount.

Now I realize that there are other components that make a good story, but I figured I will start small then go big in the end. Next time you question your story, just think S’MORE!

You've reached the end of published parts.
