You always think you know someone.

You may know their favorite ice cream, or favorite color. You might know how they like their coffee, or what kind of stores they shop at. You might know how they kiss, or make love. You may think you know them like the back of your hand.

Until one day, when you realize that you may never have really known them at all.

A night off from work is always a good time. We always had something interesting to do. Whether it be skydiving, clubbing, playing pranks on each other, or simply just hanging out.

On this particular night, we decided to throw a little party. After all, it was Jaze's birthday and seventeen is surely an age to celebrate.

Our complex, or living quarters, was filling with people. Bottles of liquor scattered the counters in our kitchen adjacent to the living room. Upstairs I could see smoke rolling out from underneath one of the bedrooom doors. Music was playing from an expensive sound system.

"It's okay everybody, we're here now!" I turned around to see my brother and my boyfriend coming in the door. They had their arms filled with more bottles of liquor — just what everyone needed. I rolled my eyes and wound my way through the sea of bodies to greet them.

"Like anybody was really waiting for you two to join us," I said playfully, flicking my brother's ear.

"Luxe! There's no need to hurt me!" He winced in pain, or acted like he was in pain, anyway. I laughed and turned to Zac, my boyfriend. I found that he was already looking at me, a smile gracing his face. I rolled forward onto my toes and kissed him lightly.

"Enough of that! Drink up, little sis!" Landon yelled in my ear. I turned to my brother and give him my deadliest glare. He just laughed at my failed attempt to scare him.

"Listen to your brother, Luxe." Zac handed me a bottle of a flavored vodka. "Drink up." I took a big swig, trying not to wince as the alcohol slipped down my throat, leaving a burning sensation behind.

"Let's dance!" I exclaimed, pulling Zac with me towards the middle of the living room, which had been turned into a sweaty mass of dancing people. I kept the bottle of vodka in my hand and started to grind on Zac. After a while of dancing, he left me.

"I'll find you later, love." He said to me, and with a kiss he was gone. I shrugged it off and found Jaze and Macey to dance with. We danced for a while and attempted to finish the bottle that I was holding. We have a pretty high tolerance but after it was finished we were so drunk.

"Luxe, darling! We need a smoke, what about you?" Macey slurred her words.

"Yes," I groaned, motioning towards my empty bottle. "I'm in need of something! I think I'll go grab my stash and we can go outside."

"Meet you on the balcony," Jaze said with a wink, or at least that is what I think she was trying to do. I turned away and headed up the stairs to Zac's and my rooms. I stumbled up the stairs, feeling the effects of the alcohol. I managed to make it to the last door on the left, our room. I fumble with the knob then I finally open it.

"Weird," I mutter to myself, wondering why the door had been stuck. I pushed open the doorway and find the light switch. I turn it on and wince at harsh light. But what I see on the bed is even worse than the bright light.
