Golden brown eyes fluttered open, facing that sun shining through the glass panes of the window. The raven haired Japanese man stretched his arms over his head, yawning. He turned over onto his other side, giving a small smile as he faced his husband, Greece. He straightened out the shirt that had gotten tangled around him while turning, given it was Greece's and far too big on him.
Japan studied the features he had come to love on the Grecian. Perfectly tanned skin from days spent lounging on the warm sand and sun on the Mediterranean sea, curly brown hair, the way his eyes fluttered as he slept. He loved every inch of the larger man.
Japan rested his head on the Grecian's strong chest, hearing the soothing heartbeat as he mused on the many memories the two had shared. The first time they met... He could remembered it perfectly. Ancient Greece, Greece's mother, had come to visit his caretaker, China, and had brought the sleepy child along. They didn't speak to each other that much at the time, eacj doing their own thing as their caretakers discussed business. But China had told him that they would one day be great friends. Japan didn't believe the elder at the time, never being able to imagine himself as friends with the lazy Greek.
He was right Japan mused quietly to himself. Maybe their first meeting hadn't gone so well, but everything after that had.
Their first date... Japan could remember it as if it were only yesterday. They had gone stargazing, he could recall. Sitting on the dewy green grass, they watched the stars, pointing out ones they knew and teaching the other about it if they didn't know about it. He loved quiet moments like those. Calm, peaceful. It was everything he could ever ask for.
Their first kiss... Had been as special as any of the others they had shared. The way it seemed to last forever. Their first kiss had been on a rainy day, and both were soaked as they tried to run to the Grecian's home to get dry. Strangely, they were laughing like maniacs at the fact that they had gotten soaked. It was moments like that that reminded Japan that someone didn't think about him based on the stereotypes of his people. The kiss placed on his petal soft pink lips startled him at first, but he nevertheless kissed back, though unexperienced and hesitant.
When they first moved in together... Japan would never regret that choice. The day he set the boxes of his things down on the plush carpet of the Greek house on the beach. He loved the may Greece would help him unpack, putting things away and helping Japan in any way he could. Whether it be placing something on a high shelf that the small asian couldn't reach, or setting something on the ground because of Japan's sore back.
Their first fight... Japan could remember it clearly, but it reminded him that all couples fought sometimes. The harsh words spat at each other in cold blood. Doors slammed, things broken, you name it. But at the end of the day, the warm, strong arms wrapped around him in a comforting gesture, the apologies murmured from them both, reminded him that even in the worst days, everything would turn out okay.
Their wedding... It was the most amazing thing he could ever imagine. The way their cultures mixed and the way they said those special words... "I do." he wouldn't trade it for the world.
Every single one of the memories they shared, good or bad, brought a smile to his face. He hugged the Grecian with his skinny arms, rousing the deep sleeper from his slumber. The arms wrapped around him made the smile on his face grow wider.
"I'd never trade this for the world." he said softly, tangling their fingers together as they lay there, the sun warming their skin and the words that had never been said passed between them in silence.
