Once there was a house, a old one deep in the forest. Who lived there was a mystery, yet what came next was a disaster...
The house burned into flames, a fire that oddly enough never touched the trees. When the officers and fire department came through to put it all out, a body was found...they said it was a girl's a little one at that.
Her name was Pan, everyone knew her. She used to go to a school in town and lived with a family who loved her a lot. She was never bad, and always obeyed the rules...well until she discovered the box that is...
The box...The box...The box....
The house yet burned never even shed a splinter of wood, it was strange and yet the town was amazed. The officers closed it up with nails and plywood. Covered it with yellow tape and commanded that no one go near it. Some claim they heard ghost, whispers from the forest...maybe it was the house or maybe something more horrid. No one could ever guess why Pan would want to play there...but we do...
She opened the box...She disobeyed the rules...She was the cat killed by curiosity...She had to pay...Don't be Pan, listen to the rules and never, and may I say ever do what cats do.
I'll only say this once...So pay close attention...Never shall you ever...OPEN THE BOX!!!
"Mom! Look!" A little girl cried. Her mom tried around with the phone to her ear. You could see the lack of sleep in her eyes as if she been up for a couple of days rather then hours.
"Yes dear I'm on the phone!" She called back from the backyard patio.
The little girl ran across the yard. "But look it Mommy its a butterfly! You see its wings its soo blue and shiny!" She shouted giggling. "Can we catch it and show Daddy?"
"Sure later..." Her mom replied half paying attention. "Yes! I'm still here....10am....no no sure I can definitely come in...yes that's not a problem sir..." She wrote on a notepad as she talked ignoring the girl completely.
"Mommy we can't wait it's getting away!"
"Not now Kim I'm on the phone!" Kim's mother walked inside. "Yeah...no I'm sorry where were we?"
Kim pouted and folded her arms before looking at the butterfly fly over the fence. "Find I'll catch him my self." She started up the tree and stood on top of one the branches that hung over the wooded fence. Her heart was beating fast in her chest but she was brave...once she stabled her balance she jumped over the fence and rolled onto the grassy lawn on the other side. After dusting herself off she looked around and seen the blue sapphire butterfly fluttering down the street. "Hey wait up Mr. Butterfly!"
She ran to catch up with it.A neighbor was walking down the street and spotted Kim, "Oh hello there Kimberly."
"HI!" She said still running."Why you running there darling?"
"I'm trying to catch Chloe!" She called out."Who's Chloe?"
"She's a butterfly." Kim giggled.
"Well have fun dear and don't run off too far!" The neighbor called out."I won't!" After running for a few blocks Kim seen the butterfly turn into the forest. She stopped in her tracks and looked up at the giant trees. "Wow..." She looked down at the closed and Do Not Enter Signs. "What is this place?" She looked back down the path, the town seemed kind of distant. Kim knew she should start heading back but something about the forest enticed her to venture in it. Suddenly she seen a blue blur. "Chloe! Wait up Chloe!" She walked past the signs and ran after the butterfly.
"Chloe come on I shouldn't be out this far mom will get worried." She said, "Just let me catch you, I only want to show you to Daddy!" she whined. After awhile of running Kim seemed lost, she stopped near a tree stump and began to get worried as she noticed a bunch of trees in every direction, none showing the way back to the sidewalk. "Chloe? Chloe this isn't funny...I'm scared..."Kim began to cry, "Someone...Anyone...I want to go home..."
