(BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!) "Uhhhh I hate mornings!"said Steph. She went to her dresser, got dressed, crawled down the steps, and brushed her teeth. "Ma it's time for school!" "Okay honey have a nice day!" replied Ma. On her way to school she saw Germans around the street corner. "Hey! You! What is your name?" "Steph is the name sir." she replied. "Are you Jewish or what?" "No."she replied. "Carry on." the man said. "That was weird..."said Steph to herself as she walked away. Whenever she got to school she was pumped. She saw her friend, Ellen and said "Remember your coming home with me after school today." Seven hours later, "Hey Ellen do you see those guards?" she said pointing to the big men. "You two! Get over here!" said the tall guard. Ellen and Steph rushed over to the guard and said: "Whats wrong sir?" "I have saw you today but who's your friend here?'' he said. "Is she Jewish?" he asked. "No sir she's not."lied Steph. "Okay carry on." the tall man said. When they got home Steph saw Ma and Pa making signs. She didnt know what they ment but knew the sad sound. Later Ma called down Ellen and Steph for supper. Pa and Ma sat down at the table and so did they. And Pa said 'kids we got something to tell you''germans are ruling denmark''ellens family was killed.she will now live here. Ellen started crying and yeling "MA! PA!!!!!. Ma grabbed Ellen and excused them from the dinner table. Steph felt really bad for Ellen. Ma was talking to Ellen in low whispers. Steph tried to hear them talk but she heard nothing. After dinner Steph went upstairs with Ellen. Steph knew Ellen wouldn't want to talk about it so Steph used her friend charm and said "Hey Ellen wanna play hide n' seek? Ma and Pa wont let use in the pantry thou. What do you say...sister." Steph said with a smile. She managed to put a smile on Ellen's face. She nodded in amusement that her friend was trying so hard to make her feel better. They rushed down stairs and played.
2 months later..
"Ma I hate it here!" said Steph. The german war started. So they moved to France, a safer place for all of them. Ellen was Jewish and if Steph hadn't ripped her necklace off, Ellen would've been dead. Lukily they escapped unharmed. "Steph give this place a chance. It way better than over there! replied Ma. Ma had a pretty good point. It was much safer. So Ellen and Steph went outside to play. ''Lets play on the road. There is no one here. If a car comes just get off.''suggested Ellen. So they did. But suddenly..a huge truck came! Ellen jumped and Steph froze. "AHHH!''she yelled.The car smashed her ancle. Ma and Pa drove her to the doctor where they gave her crutches. Years past and the German war ended. They all survived but Ellen's parents will always be rememberd.
