Lucas arrived puffed and a little sweaty, he had ran all the way to Anne's.
"Oh Lucas!" i sprinted down the driveway to meet him.
He pulled me into his arms, the smell of sweat didn't even bother me. All i cared about was that he was alive and here with me.
"So much has happened in so little time" He pointed out. I pulled away, then kissed him lightly on his lips.
"Come on! Lucas, Lauren, we have to go to the valley to set up the tent!" Anne called from the veranda.
We packed everything into the Toyota. Anne drove this time. Danny was laying across Shay and Milly again, I laid on Lucas, suddenly not feeling well. Trixie was in the passenger seat next to Anne. We were winding up a rocky track up and down massive hills at the back of Anne's property.
I texted Dad, saying; "Hey dad, at Anne's, a lot has happened but we are safe for now" I fell asleep. it was only a light sleep. Lucas was stroking my hair every time i woke up. we arrived in the valley. We left Milly and Danny in the car while we set up the tent next to the pond. We organized everything, so inside and out of the tent was like a mini house. I sat in Lucas's lap, half asleep, on the right to us was Trixie, Shay, Milly, Danny then Anne. Anne's tent was much bigger than Milly's.
All the girls had gotten changed into leggings, because a cold fog was rolling in, the valley outside became dark and unrecognizable. "What's the Time?" Milly asked tiredly.
I looked at the screen of my Samsung. "Eight thirty" I answered sounding even more tired than Milly.
"Who is gonna keep watch? while we sleep?" Trixie mumbled. "I will" Anne offered. "After all, you are on my property"

I awoke to another noise. Again. It was a gasp, followed by heavy breathing "What is-" Anne shushed me halfway though my sentence. I heard it to. Moaning, or growling. A deep throaty gnarl.
"What is that?" I whispered as quiet as i could. Everyone was awake except Danny."I don't know, it could be a fox, kangaroo or a....." Anne trialed off, we all knew what else it could be. My breathing became rapid from fear. I pulled out the gun from my bag next to my mattress. Anne held out her hunting rifle.
She unzipped the tent as slowly and noiselessly as she could. She peered outside. Then Zipped the tent up and jolted back in the same movement. "Holy shit. Holy shit" She swore under here breath repeatedly. "It's f**king Undead. Three of 'em" Anne cursed.
"Shh. It might here you" Milly hushed Anne. The gnarls grew louder, rustling in long grass. Anne started swearing again, so did Trixie. "What do we do?" Shay asked urgently.
"How about we pack everything up as quickly as possible. Only the essentials, leave the rest, like the chairs and mattresses and stuff. Then Anne, Shay and I go out with the guns and hold back the Undead. Trixie you run and start up the car. Lucas can carry Danny. Then once we are done, we rush to the Toyota and go to the school. That sound good?" I suggested quickly.
Everyone nodded their approval. Shay got out the other rifle. We loaded our guns. Trixie started screaming as bloody hands were banging on the tent from the outside, trying to break through. I aimed my pistol between the hands, where the heart would be then fired. It was loud. The hands left the tent and I heard the creature hit the ground outside. Everything went quiet, as if someone was turning off a loud TV on a quiet night.
"Are they gone?" Danny whispered. We all listened. Frustration rose in my stomach and the growling noises came back.
"Come on. Lets put this plan into action. It anything goes wrong run to the car, if that doesn't work, just run for Anne's house. Ready? GO!"
