"You Were Everything To Me"

Chapter-9

Agam and Kudrat picked Arjun from his home. Kudrat was sitting at the back seat and Agam and Arjun were sitting in front.

Kudrat was all chirpy from her home to Arjun's home but as soon as Arjun joined them she went silent. Only "hu""haan""hmmm" were coming out of her mouth in the reply of every question.

Arjun and Agam were talking about Chandigarh and its development in last 10 years, about elections, Indian politics, wrestling and what not. Boys Talk. And Kudrat was listening to them silently.

After half an hour, defeating the traffic of Chandigarh reached at Rock Garden.

They were roaming in the garden watching sculptures, statues made out of waste materials and discussing about its history. Kudrat was an art and nature lover and she knew almost everything about every visiting place in India.

They reached near wishing well situated in centre of the garden.

"And this is wishing well. We put a coin in it and wish for something. People say If this coin get settled in the middle of the well then our wish gets granted" Kudrat told them.

"Hainn!! Ki bakwas ae eh?" Arjun and Agam said in unison.

" you think its a joke? Chalo. Lets try!"Kudrat said.

"Apan ni krna(humne ni karna)"Boys said.

"Na karo. I am doing it"Kudrat said and took out a coin.

She closed her eyes and wished for something and then throw that coin in the well and to her wonder it got settled at the centre.

This was the first time in years when it happened with her. She had wished so many times here but not once it settled there.

Kudrat smiled and closed her eyes. Arjun was staring at Kudrat all this while.

"Ki mangya?(kya maanga)"Agam asked.

"Eh ni dussna hunda(yeh nahin btate)"Kudrat smiled.

"Chalo chalo. Ethe e ni saara time launa. Hor v dekhna ae chandigarh( yahan hi saara time nahin lgana. Baaki ka chandigarh bhi dekhna hai)"Arjun said.

Agam and Kudrat smiled and proceeded to see the remaining.

After 2 minutes Arjun said,"I am feeling thirsty. You stay here. I will bring water"

"Okay. Come soon"Agam said.

Arjun smiled and went back to bring water bottle. But was this the main reason behind it?!

He excused himself from Kudrat and Agam and came back to "wishing well". He never believed in such things but don't know why he want to believe it now. May be after seeing Kudrat's faith, he want to believe it.

He took out a coin from his wallet and closed his eyes and wished for something and throw that coin in the well.

Coin was drowning slowly in water and Arjun was watching it that it will settle at the centre or not. But alas it missed.

Arjun smiled sadly and said to himself,"Shayad rabb v eh e chaunda ae( shayad bhagwan bhi ye hi chahta hai)"

He bought a water bottle and again joined Kudrat and Agam.

"Ena time kithe laata( itna time kahan laga dia?)"Agam asked.

"Oh bheed c othe( bheed the wahan)"Arjun lied.

"Acha. Chalo hun chetti chetti.( chalo ab jaldi jaldi)"Agam said and they finished their"garden seeing".

They roamed around whole day. Art galleries, mueseums, rose garden, Food joints and what not.

After a hectic day, they decided to get relaxed at Sukhna lake. It was 8 when they reached there.

Arjun noticed this weird behaviour of Kudrat. One time she behave all shy and next time she chirps like bird.

They reached at lake and took a seat at the stairs near the lake. Wind was cold and refreshing. After a whole day long torture of North Indian summer in the month of June, this moment was like a new life to Kudrat.

She was enjoying the moment with her eyes closed. This was her favourite place. Whenever she felt low, this was the place which gave her solace. It was like her own place of relief, peace, solace.

And today she was here with two most important persons of her life. Agam and Arjun. Can life get any better? When you have world best parents, world best brother and world best best friend.

They all were sitting in silence and was drinking the beauty of nature. Sun was about to set and the horizon was all orange like someone painted it with orange colour so beautifully.

Just then Agam's phone rang and he excused himself to attend the call.

"Hoya ki ae tainu(hua kya hai tujhe?)"Arjun asked.

"Mainu ki hona ae( mujhe kya hona hai?)"Kudrat replied.

"Why are you behaving so shy and all ?"Arjun asked again.

"Naah toh"Kudrat said and Arjun smiled on her childlike tone.

Kudrat was like this only. She behave maturely when she need to and she behaves like a child when she want to.

"You are looking beautiful "Arjun complimented and smiled.

Kudrat lifted her eye lashes up and then again down and chipped a thank you with a smile.

Kudrat felt an unknown sensation in her stomach and red colour smiled on her cheeks. Thanks to the darkness of the night that Arjun was not able to notice it.

Agam was still busy on phone and Arjun and Kudrat was alone sitting on stairs near Sukhna Lake.

Arjun streched his arms and bended them behind to support just then he shrieked,"Aaahhhh".

"Ki hoya?(Kya hua?)"Kudrat panicked.

"Oh kujh ni. Ethe stairs te kcch peya c. Chubh gya haath ch(kuch nahin. Yahan stairs pe kaanch pdha tha. Haath mein lag gya)"Arjun told her.

"Dikhaao mainu(Dikhao mujhe) "Kudrat switched on her phone's flashlight and started examining his wound.

"Chjj naal beh v ni hunda tuhaade kolo kite. Niyaane o tuc. Apna dhyan v ni rakh sakde. Enna khoon aa rea ae( dhang se beth bhi nahin sakte kahin. Bache o aap. Dhyaan bhi nahin rakh sakte apna. Itna khoon aa raha hai)"Kudrat was scolding him.

"I am okay Kudrat. Its nothing serious"Arjun tried to calm down her.

"Keep quiet."Kudrat told him and fished out medicinal kit from her bag. Girls you see. They carry everything which can be needed in time of emergency. *wink*

She dipped cotton in dettol and cleared his wound.

"Aaahhh"Arjun moaned in pain.

"Dard hoya. I am sorry" Kudrat said and blowed some air using her mouth on hus wound.

"Hun theek hai"Arjun smiled.

"Bus hun main dwai laga dini aa. Pher chetti chetti theek hojuga( bus ab main dwai lga deti hu. Pher jaldi jaldi theek ho jaayega)"Kudrat said as she applied antiseptic cream on his wound.

"You are a doctor or what??"Arjun smirked.

"Everybody should learn this first aid."Kudrat smirked back.

"Acha"Arjun teased her.

"Haanji. Te hun zraa dhyaa naal( ab zra dhyaan se) "Kudrat smiled.

These two souls were busy in themselves but someone else was watching them and was smiling.
