Winter Wonderland

It's been three days and I'm already ready to go back to Cali. I got so accomodated to the warmer weather that I'm bundled up all the time now. Thank god I was still kind of used to this or I would be going ballistic.

I was heading over to the local bar to meet up with a few friends to catch up and whatnot. I was half excited half dreading the expierence. I loved them but they were brutal to be around sometimes.

I arrived at the bar, ordered my drink and some wings before any of them showed up. One by one, my friends arrived.

"Miranda! It seems like it's been so long!" One of my best friends, Marrissa said and squeezed me tightly.

"I know, your the lucky one of us that actually got out of this shit hole town." Erika, my 'friend' said with a slight scoff but a smile plastered to her dark face. She had tried numerous times to take Chris from me but said that they had always been good friends. I never believed it but she was still a friend, one of the few that I had while living here.

"How is it in Cali, you some big shot now?" Priscilla said with a smirk. She was a long distance friend who I had met online years ago and recently moved to NY, though I told her not to, and came here to see me tonight.

"It does feel like forever since I've been here. Everything is going really well, California has done me right." I smiled thinking to the famous boyfriend I had back in my west coast home. I wonder if they knew...

"Hows the elusive boyfriend?" Rissa asked and the other girls perked up. They knew.

"He's good." I smiled and twirled the ring that was around my neck.

"Who is he?! I saw Chris the other day and he said he was good for you." Erika said. Figures that she would be going for him right after the break up. Chris never liked her much. He said she caused too much drama which was true but also that she was too bitchy most of the time.

"Well, I'm not eactly sure if I should say anything yet.." I said ourely because I didn't want them flipping out. We hadn't made it public yet and god knows these girls have mouths that travel quicker than the speed of light.

"Oh come on! Why not?" Priscilla asked with a pout.

"We just haven't made it public yet, I just want to wait it out for a little while." Just then, my phone buzzed and I glanced down.

Jaime

Hey babe, whatcha up too?

I'm out with the girls

Can I tell them about us or is it still on dl?

Jaime

You can tell them if you feel comfortable, it's only fair. All my frinds know about you.

Ok, I love you babe, I'll talk to you when I get home!

"Well, is that him now?" Rissa said with a devilish smirk.

"Yeah, he said I could tell you but you guys can't flip out ok?" I saod cautiusly. I fel like I was making a mistake by telling them. Jesus, what kind of person doesnt tell their friends about her realtionship?

"Well, go on!" Priscilla said excitedly and I chuckled.

"I'm dating Jaime Preciado." I said quietly, if there was a fan here, I would probably be killed ourely out of hatred.

"What?!" "No way." "From pierce?" they all said and I chuckled but nodded.

"How the hell did that happen?" Erika asked in disbelief. I could see the jealousy seeping from her eyes.

"I had to shoot them for work unknowingly and after the show, they wanted me to stay and have a drink with them. They had already known me from what Adam Elmakias told them and since then, they've helped me get used to being in Cali and Jaime and I just hit it off I guess." I said and the memory of me falling asleep next to him that first night, the movie night played in the back of my mind.

"Lucky duck, you!" Priscilla said with a laugh and the girls nodded.

The brutal part was done with fo the night but the questons never stopped. All they talked about was hw lucky I was and how they want to visit, the only I know would actually do it would be Priscilla. Marrissa and Erika were too obsessed with their lives here to go anywhere that wasn't on the east coast but Pris had a passion for travel.

The night had ended and I was home again, in my old room. I called Jaime and talked to him for about an hour before calling it a night.

'Miranda..' someone whispered through my locked door.

"what?"

'come here.'

I groaned and got up, I knew it was my brother calling me out.

"Come have a drink with me." He said and held a bottle of Fire ball up and I tiredly smiled. Over the years, my brother has become more family oriented. He used to seclude himself from us but since he started school, he actually wants to be around us.

I drank with him for a while, we talked about how different our lives were and how far we've come and where we want to go after this.

"I actually want to move out to Cali, see if I can get a good job out there once I'm done with school. Put my schooling to good use." He seemed to space out after that.

"It's so nice out there, Scott. Everything is so different and fast paced. I think you'd do well out there." I smiled and so did he.

"You know, They have your pictures up at Oakdale for promotion. It's so weird seeing my little sisters name up on a big blown up picture of a band." We both chuckled.

"Believe me, It's weird to see my own name in the papers when bands are coming round." I took a sip of my drink and leaned back.

We stayed quiet for a little while and then the questions came again.

"So, find anyone interesting out there?" He asked with a silly smirk. Everyone seemed to know about my relations purely because of my social media.

"Yeah. A nice guy, a few more friends than usual, a few people I can shut down with sarcasm.." I chuckled and he smiled and shook his head.

"A guy? Nope. My little sister isn't dating anyone." He said seriously but jokingly. He was always protective over me.. well, when he wanted to be.

"I think you'd like him. He's much nice than.. Chris." I grimmaced at his name. I knew at some point during my stay that we'd run into each other.

"I'm glad you found someone that's treating you right but you let this mystery guy that I will hurt him twice as much as he hurt you, if he ever does."

"I don't think he'll ever hurt me. He's the person that I can truly say that I can see having a future with." I smiled shyly and my brother chuckled.

"Well, tell me who he is, I want to stalk him." I pulled up his Instagram and my brothers eyes went wide.

"You mean to tell me that you're dating a guy that's in a huge band... that you have lyrics from.." He looked at me skeptically and I whipped out my phone and showed him pictures of us together.

"Damn, Miranda." He said with a sigh.

"I know, I was surprised to even have met them. They're great guys though, you'd get along with Mike though.. He's a stoner but a fun one." I chuckled and so did he. If Scott ever moved out to Cali or even visited, I would never see him. He would probably be with Mike the whole time.

"Good to know. I'm thinking of coming out right after I finish school." He spaced out again for a second. "Are you coming to my graduation?"

"Yeah, just let me know when it is. Maybe I'll bring Jaime if he's not on tour."

"I think it's June 20th. I'll send out the two tickets when I get them." I nodded and we went back to the silence with his TV on in the background.

We both decided to call it a night when it hit 3 AM.

A good start to my 'vacation' now I just have to hope that the rest goes just as smoothly.
