I went to the Wise Wolf for some advice because lately I have felt strange in shadows. The she-wolf smiled at me when I came into her den because I was her beloved apprentice.
"Ah, my beloved apprentice! I sense you are troubled by something. Tell me, what is it?" she asked.
"The shadows bother me, master," I admitted. She smiled kindly which made me smile.
"Ah, yes, the terrible shadows. Legend has it that the shadows are a less stronger version of the powerful and evil darkness. There was a war between light and dark as I recall. Of course, I am very old, as old as the earth itself. I watched as the battle went down. They destroyed themselves. But it never should never have been," she shook her head sadly. "If only they didn't try to kill each other."
I shook my head sadly as well for I knew her sadness. She looked at me and chuckled. "Oh, but things can change through the reincarnation of the two. There is a second chance. There usually is."
This wolf was so wise that I knew she meant every word she said. The alpha made us go hunting, but Maplewood was okay with it. We went hunting and I felt it, so I explored. A shadow looked at me and I knew what it was. It was a black wolf with red eyes. We looked into each other's eyes and recognized each other.
"Nightmare," I whispered.
"Light," he gasped.
"Maplewood was right. We have come back," I growled. " And it doesn't have to be the same."
"You're right," he told me. "It doesn't."
