Slowly she span, watching the walls go with her. Dimmed light stretched into the room from out of the large windows that stretched from floor to ceiling in the great empty room. Rain spattered against these eyes in the wall causing a calming and slightly frightening aura in the room.Spinning to the rhythm of the new Record that her father had bought her, her speed intensified as the the music got more dramatic and then as it began to fade out, making her blissfully unaware of any presence in the room save her own. Her dance ended with one final soft note and she slide on the cold, hardwood floor in the darkened room. She stayed in that position for a moment before rising to put on another record disc and continue dancing. Arising gracefully towards it she put in another disc and began dancing to the slow and sad melody. Holding her breath as she swayed, she had became aware that someone had entered the room. Stopping only momentarily, her heart beat in panic. Father was away, and even if he had come home early he knew to never disturb her while she danced as did the household servants. She danced faster and with new vigor as the song reached its climax. Frantically scanning the room for anyone she wondered whether the person had left or not. Maybe she was wrong.Maybe there had been no person but as she slowed she saw a tall dark figure standing in the shadows. He to was swaying to the music and stared walking towards her as she slowed her dance and faced him. "No my love. Keep dancing your pretty dance." He said this in a soothing tone but all the same it was menacing and chilling. "And who, might I ask sir, are you? You do not live here?" She was quite unsure of his reasons for being here and she did not wish to anger him if they were of ill intent. A simply smile was his reply as he stepped from the shadows revealing a handsome face of a man in his prime. Tall, dark, strong and with rich pointed features he seemed to stand taller, and be, if possible, even more frightening with such handsome features. He held his hand out and stooped into a bow, "May I, have this dance, M'lady?" Dressed in suit of fine silk he looked such the part of a gentleman and she was completely entranced, as if a snake and his prey. Hesitantly she placed her hand on his and they flew. It was as if he was an eagle and she a dove. He guided her around the dance floor with ease and with such grace that she had never seen nor felt. They dipped, they span they connected. Two minds in perfect alliance, though they knew not the other their bodies moved together in such a way that no mind or petty conversation could ever relate to. She felt as if she knew exactly who this man was and he, her heart body and soul. The music was dramatic, breath taking and enchanting beyond your dreams. He carried her as if she was but a feather but one that he made sure of not to break. When the music ended he held her in a dip. One hand on the floor the other around his neck, her back was arched over his arm which was raped around her waist. It was if she was a doll that he was carrying and he her careful owner. He held the position not wanting to break the embrace. But when he arose, she fell and he made no move to help her up, "Who are you" She asked in a hushed whisper, Smiling he spoke in a hushed tone also, "I don't exist. I am simply in your head " He turned to leave the room when she called out to him, "Will I ever see you again?!", He turned back to her and smiled but one more, but this time it was a cold smile, His eyes as ice and fire mixed in one place. "You will see me when you chose to. I am your mind. I am your heart. I am your emotion. You chose to let me in or out. But if you chose to block this place of serenity, mystic, and Anguish, then that is you initiative and you will go through life missing something you don't quite remember. Dead and yet alive. Breathing and still breathless. Hoping against hope. And hurting with no pain."And with that he walked away, leaving her cold empty on the floor with the fading music and rain to batter against the windows. And there she lay. A knife in her heart, unable to die, unable to call for help and yet, free. She could not fly for she could not find her wings. She had thought her wings were another's but once he left and she was left to ponder. To consider. And once she did ponder she realized who the man was. He was the place inside her mind that was hollow. That place that all have. Some more then others. That place some go in when in pain and some just live there. Dancing has been her escape and now she felt. She flew. She soared.
She had wakened from that place in her mind full of darkness that was both peace and anguish.
She now felt alive
She was free to fly without someone to guild.
She Alone controlled the Dance of her Mind.
