If James Potter sacrificed himself for Lily, then why did Lily die when Voldemort cast the curse on her? Was James' love not strong enough?
Also, why would he set his wand down? He's being hunted by the most powerful dark wizard of all time and sets his wand down. "Oh, theres a knock at the door. Better not be Voldemort, because I don't have a fücking wand!"
