The Origin of Naruto

A Promise

After 4 years of training in the ANBU, Naruto, now 8 years old, is looking over Konaha on top of Hokage Mt. His outfit consits of a standard ANBU uniform and wears a mask that resembles a Fox. He then sinks in thought as he remembers his promise to Itachi - sensei.

-Naruto is jumping from roof to roof, trying to find Itachi hoping to change his mind on a certain matter. As soon as he saw him, he landed behind him about 6ft. away. "Itachi-sensei," He yelled,"you don't have to do this! We can find another way, please, don't do this!" Itachi turns to face Naruto, eyes beginning to water. "Naruto, I know, how you feel, but this is something I must do myself." "Why!" Naruto asked, while holding back his anger,"Why do you have to kill your entire clan" Itachi explained how the Uchihas were planning a coup against the village and the village elders decided to take action against them. "I am doing this becuase I want to protect my village." Naruto looked at Itachi in shock. "The path of a shinobi is never a pleasent one, you are going to make difficult choices in the future, as I am doing now." Naruto ran toward Itachi and hugged his sensei. Itachi, trying his best not to cry, keeled down to his student's eye level, "I always thought of you as a little brother, even though I have to kill my clan, I won't be able to kill little Sasuke." Naruto looked down in sadness, but his gaze was brought up by Itachi. "So after tonight, I want you to look after my brother. Protect and help him, whatever challenges he should take." Naruto looked at Itachi with admiration. He wiped his tears than made a fist with his right hand and placed it over his heart,"I promise, I will carry out your wish to protect Sasuke. Beleive it!" A tear managed to escape Itachi's eye as he felt a huge weight lifted off his shoulders, he stood up and poked Naruto's forehead with a smile. He turned around and went to fulfill his last mission-, Naruto opened his eyes looking down at the Hokage's office.

Later, Naruto knocked on the Hokage's door. "Come in," Naruto went into the office, and noticed the old man's desk filled with unfinished paperwork. Though the Hokage was tired, he forced a smile, "Hello Naruto, what can I do for you?" Naruto wondered how the old man would react, he sighed and started to speak. "Lord Hokage, a year ago the elders ordered the Uchiha Clan Massascre. Before Itachi carried out his orders, he entrusted his brother's protection unto me." The Hokage was wondereing where this was going. "Therefore I ask your permission to leave the ANBU and enroll in the Acadamey." Hiruzen Sarutobi looked at Naruto, "I understand, classes will start in a week, I will submit your application." Naruto smiled, "thank you Lord Hokage," he gladly bowed. "However, you will have to hide your true abilities." Naruto nodded in understandment. He left old man Sarutobi to his paperwork as he left his office. Naruto began walking toward the exit as he encountered Kakashi-sensei reading Icha Icha Paradise. "Hey Kakashi-sensei." Kakashi looked at the blonde, "Hello, Naruto," he greeted while putting his book away. "How have you been, sensei." "Oh, just trying to knock some sense in these kids." "Kids like me?" Kakashi chuckled, "Yeah, individually they show promise, but they lack a sense of teamwork. And for two years i've tried to teach them that." "Hey, Kakashi-sensei," Kakashi looked at Naruto, "why did you and Iruka leave the ANBU?" Kakashi sighed,"because you surpassed us. After a year of teaching you the basics, Iruka found his true calling. As for me, I spent two trying to make you my equal. And before I realized it, you became my surperior, an ANBU captain at age 7." Naruto looked down in remorse," You say that as if i've only done good things back then." Kakashi placed a hand on his shoulder, "Iruka and I have been given chance to atone for our actions, I just hope you find your chance." Naruto watched as Kakashi entered the Hokage's office. Naruto smirked to himself and thought,'Already did.'

-What is going on guys? Liking the book? Hope you are, I've been unable to update due to writer's block. Although I do have a few chapters already written I'm going to need some ideas and feedback on the book. And remember, feedback appreciated, negativity is not.  :)
