So calm. The ocean. . . The waves crashing along the shore, and the warm sand on your skin. Birds chirping in the distance, and trees swaying in the wind.
But. . . Where am I exactly? You took a slow breath in, and the scent of the ocean filled your lungs. Pain shot up your legs as you tried to move them, and you looked up. A jutting cliff rose high above you, and you couldn't remember anything.
Had you washed up from the ocean behind you? Or fallen off of the cliff? Considering you felt dry and your legs were most likely broke, it was the cliff.
Very slowly you dug your hands into the sand and started an agonizing and slow crawl further up the beach to be protected by the shade.
"Jake look! We have to help her!" Came a voice in the distance, from up the cliff. Jake? Does that guy know who I am? . . . Wait. . . I know my name. F/n if I remember correctly. . .
"On it!" Came an answer to the first voice, and you see an orange dog . . . Grow into an odd shape and step down the mountain before shrinking. Help? They're going to . . . Help?
You stop crawling and watch the dog and a boy with a bear hoody and blonde hair approach. As they get nearer your vision blurs, and the world grows dark.
Beep
Beep
Beep
Beep
What's that sound?
You slowly open your eyes and look around the room. . . What smells like candy? You look around and can now see some people, the new face was a woman with pink hair approaching you quickly. The boy and dog from earlier are with her, smiling at you brightly. You look away from them and at the machine you're hooked up to. A hospital of sorts. . . Everything looks like it's made out of candy.
"Hello. I'm Princess Bubblegum, and these two hero's that saved you are Finn the Human and Jake the Dog." The woman spoke softly to you. You look them all over, another human? Another anything? . . . What am I thinking about? My memories might start coming back and this will all be explained.
"Who are you? You seem lost. . ." She asked, tilting her head.
Who. . . Who am I? F/n . . .l/n . . . Lost something. . . Found something. . .
"Are you alright? You don't look so good?" The boy, Finn, asked with a questioning look.
"Sorry. . . I'm just having a hard time remembering. I'm F/n. . . F/n l/n, and. . . I lost something. . . And then I found something. . ." You run a hand through your hair and look down at the cast on your right leg.
"Uh, this is torture!" You say through gritted teeth. If these people don't know who I am. . . Does anyone? I could have a family waiting for me or . . . I could be all alone!
"I'm sorry to hear that. By the way, you're in the candy kingdom. Feel free to eat anything except our citizens or personal belongings." Princess Bubblegum said and sighed in deeply.
"Finn, Jake, I leave her with you guys for the time being. I'll be back in a few hours to check on her healing. With my tonics she should be fully mobile in a day." She said and then left.
"A few hours?" Jake groaned in annoyance, and Finn punched him in the shoulder as a result.
"Ow! What the flip Finn?" The boy ignored the dog's whining.
"Sorry about him. Jake's a good boy but he can be rude." Finn said with a nervous laugh.
"Its alright. I'm a cat person anyways." You say and stick your tongue out at him. Jake scoffs and rolls his eyes at you, though you see him smiling.
"Candy, eh?" You ask and look around the room, looking ultimately down at the chocolate pretzel table beside you, and chip off a corner.
"Yeah. Cool, huh? . . . So f/n, I've never seen another human before." You look the boy over and bite down on the pretzel.
"I can't remember if I have or not. . . Though I have a feeling I haven't either." You say and grunt in pain before attempting to stand up.
"W-woah what are you doing!?" Finn asked worriedly and helped you up by letting you lean on his shoulder. You were only an inch shorter than him, so you were probably his age.
"If I can get in a wheelchair then I can go outside. I just want to look around. You and Jake can go do whatever, not like I need anything right now." You say with a solem shrug.
"No way! I'll push you in your wheel chair, PB said to look after you anyhow." Finn said and helped you sit down in the candy chair.
"Yeah, we've got no bad guys to beat up right now anyway." Jake said with a shrug and walked beside you as Finn pushed you out the door.
"Hi Finn, thanks again for getting my cat out of that cotton candy tree!" Some gum drop kid said with a bright smile.
Finn smiled down at her and winked with a snap, "It's no problem. I'm just your every day hero!" The young . . . Girl. . . Giggled and skipped away.
As Finn carted you around, several people said similar things. Thanking him, and praising him. . . Every one knew his name. They were smiling. . . He kept people safe. . . Made them happy. . .
I was saved by. . . A Hero? Did I know him before?
I glanced up at Finn and then to the people walking around.
"They said you're a hero. . ." I said and Finn started to turn around before nodding.
"Well. . . Yeah. It's what I do. I made a vow to help those wronged like I was." He stated firmly.
"Then will you help me?" You ask, he slowly stops wheeling you and steps in front of the wheelchair. Jake raises a brow and steps beside him. You made a mental note to ask about he was wronged later.
"Of course, what is it?"
"I. . . I want to be a hero like you." You say with a blush. Finn smiles brightly at that and Jake just chuckles under his breath.
Finn kneels dramatically with his hand over his chest.
"I will teach you, my Lady. Now, we should be getting you back. Wee!" He jumped onto the back of the wheel chair and ran towards the building at full speed. You threw up your arms and screamed 'wee' with him, seeing as it was fun. . .
Maybe you were alone before? Who cares, you were going to be a hero! You had friends. . . You had Finn!
