{8: Anemone}
Shuu is still rattled over his experience with Touka. When their eyes had first connected, he saw something that startled him... Her eyes were void of light and sympathy. Her eyes looked dead...
Her eyes looked like that of a killer.
She had indirectly confessed to being a killer, hadn't she?
"OH GOD I ALMOST KILLED AGAIN, KANEKI, I ALMOST..." Her cry from a month ago echoes within his mind.
Touka was a killer.
Is Touka still a killer?
She was ready to kill him...
But she ended up changing her mind...
What did that make her?
Was or is she a killer?
Is Shuu's life still in danger?
What if Touka suddenly decides to blame Kaneki for Hinami's death?
Is Kaneki's life in danger?
Shuu shakes his head furiously from side to side, trying to force the thought to retreat to the very back of his mind. No, Touka seems to trust and care for Kaneki...
A strange sensation fills Shuu's body. He feels warm, no... He feels like he is on fire. What is this feeling? He is no longer worrying about Kaneki's safety or his own safety... He, however, is curious to know what Touka's relationship with Kaneki is. Shuu mentally makes a list of possibilities.
1. They are related. However, this seems unlikely. They are complete opposites in both appearance and personality.
2. They are friends. Shuu REALLY REALLY hopes that they are just friends.
3. They are dating each other. The very idea annoys Shuu. Touka and Kaneki have nothing in common! Then again, opposites can attract... With a small sigh, Shuu continues to add to his list.
4. They are engaged. The very idea makes Shuu shudder.
5. They are married. Shuu can't even explain how this possibility makes him feel in words.
This list makes Shuu think of many things...
This list serves as a painful reminder...
Shuu's whole entire family is dead.
Hinami, who he considered to be family, is dead.
What few friends he had abandoned him after he said that he was going to open a flower shop. They did not consider being an owner of a flower shop a real and honorable profession. They'll see how real his profession is around Valentine's Day.
Shuu's crush, doesn't know how Shuu feels about him.
Shuu's crush will never know how Shuu feels about him.
Even though Shuu knows it is unlikely that Kaneki would be grossed out by the fact that a man has a crush on him, Shuu is afraid. Shuu is afraid of that small and unlikely chance that Kaneki might disgusted and not want to have anything to do with him.
Shuu is alone.
But is he really?
Kaneki is his friend, isn't he?
As for Touka... To be honest Shuu is a bit scared of her.
Maybe he isn't alone...
To Shuu's surprise, warm tears stream down his pale cheeks. "If only I could..." Shuu whispers to the flowers around him. "If only I could tell Kaneki how I feel..."
An Anemone within a nearby vase seems to be mocking him as one of its petals falls onto Shuu's right hand. "Yes I know I'm fragile," Shuu mutters, meanwhile wiping his tears from his eyes. "What a mean flower you are, picking on me..."
/I'm sorry for the REALLY late update! I've been busy, tired and suffering from writer's block. Once again, I'm sorry!/
