Minecraft Hunger Games

Chapter 1: The Drawing

  I try to keep myself from sweating. Today is when Dyann Kimble the ruler of the ten districts, draws the names of teens to enter the MCHG (Minecraft Hunger Games). When you turn fourteen, your name is entered. I turned fourteen in May, witch was about two months from today, July 18th. My mother was comforting my little brother he is six, and he doesn't want me to leave. We live on a small farm. Here on our farm we raise pigs, chickens, cows, sheep and horses. We also have a good sized wheat crop, to get us through the winter. My dog, Hunter, likes to chase the chickens around. I say goodbye to my mother and my brother as I climb onto my horse, Cleo, and I set off to the MCHG Drawing. Before I leave, my brother gives me our only piece of money. My district, district 8, is very poor, so money goes a long way. "Thank you Leo", I say. I give him a small hug. Then I head off. I stop at a little food stand - about a half mile from the Drawing, and I buy some bread with the money, a gold nugget. When I got to my destination, a guard take my horse to a stable and I line up where the 14-year-olds go. This one boy, I think from two, keeps on starring at me. I think I've seen him before, but I'm not sure. Finally, Dyann walks onto the stage and everyone claps for her even though no one really likes her. "Hello everybody welcome to the Drawing of the 54th Minecraft Hunger Games! Let's start with district 1." Says Dyann in the microphone. She puts her hand in the list of names then pulls out a slip of paper. "Helen Nelson", she says. A crowd in the 16-year-old section looks over at a girl with a blue dress and black hair. "Mm me?" , Helen asks. " Yes you Helen Nelson, walk up on the stage!" Dyann told her. Next up was a 17-year-old from six, named Shawn Pune. A few people later, someone from my district gets chosen. Her name is Peony Hemsworth. After her, Dyann calls out the name Lilac Brackle. Wait a second, that's me! I think. Everyone looks at me. My heart is beat hardly in my chest. I'm probably being filmed right now. "Ooh two 12's in a row! Well come on up little girl!", Dyann says to me. I'm not as little as you think lady, I say in my thoughts. "Introduce yourself". Hi people I'm um I'm Lilac Brackle. I live on a small farm in district 8." I say in the microphone. I step off the stage, still weary of when she called me up.

Now, we all have to go to the town of Amber. Every year of the Games the tributes stay at in Amber at a place called Tribute's Triangle. It's called that because the building is shaped like a triangle, but it's made mostly of glass. But first, we have to go to the Mine Cart Network and ride on the mine carts to get there.
