My Chance In Wonderland

His face was so close to mine, I could count each of his dark mahogany eyelashes. His green eyes caught my gaze and I felt my cheeks flush red.

“Hey...Take a picture it lasts longer.” His laughter brought me out of the trance I was in. Of course, as if he could care about someone like me.

I wished the ground would just open up and swallow me...little did I know that it really was going to happen.

It was Sunday when it happened. The late Sunday sun was beaming on my head and shoulders as I was picking lavender in the forest at the back of my house. The blue cotton dress swishing around my knees as I rushed through the forest, stopping now and again to pick lavender.

That was when I saw it, a white rabbit in a waist coat holding a golden pocket watch. At the time I thought i was seeing things. The trees rustling as if whispering to tell me to follow him. Sweeping the red strand of hair out of my blue eyes i decided to follow him. My rational thought at the time was “Alice followed a white rabbit and it turned out okay in the end.”

Rushing after the rabbit, my thoughts turned to where he could be leading me. The rabbit dived into a massive rabbit hole at the bottom of an oak tree, scrambling after him i felt myself falling down and down.

“I wonder if i could fall into the middle of the earth or if i could end up in wonderland, like dear old Alice.” I wondered aloud.

The falling suddenly stopped and I realised that i was sitting in the middle of a room on a black and white checker floor. In front of me was a quaint little table with a golden key and a bottle with a label reading “Drink Me”.

Thinking that this scene seemed strangely familiar I picked up the key and drank from the bottle. Slowly I started shrinking until I was only two inches high. Still clutching the key in my hand I rushed to the door in front of me and unlocked it. Stepping through the door I came to stand in a big garden.

Spotting a purple mushroom not far from where i was standing i skipped up to it. “ A caterpillar told Alice to eat a mushroom to grow bigger so it may possibly work for me... well considering I just fell down a rabbit hole and I shrank to two inches tall I think it would possibly a good idea to try the mushroom.” I spoke aloud to myself. Taking a delicate bite out of it I felt myself shoot up. Looking around I realised I was back to my original height.

Looking around I saw no one close by then i saw a huge tower not that too far from where i was standing. Deciding that would be my best and only option I ran towards it. Glancing through the window I saw a girl making tea, tapping on the window gently, the girl looked up and noticed me, a look of shock on her face. She turned around calling someone called Julius. A tall man with long black hair, scraped into a ponytail, and gold rimmed glasses came to the window peering at me.

He came and opened the brown wooden door besides the window. He then beckoned me in. The girl came up to me her waist length brown hair floating behind her. She curtsied and said to me in a kindly voice “Hello. I am Alice. Alice Liddell.”  My mouth gaped; quickly shutting it I curtsied and replied “My name is jade Gravelle.”

Suddenly a gun shot rang out as a boy with pink hair, pink and black cat ears and a cat’s tail ran past chased by a man with blonde hair and long rabbit, no hare, ears. A hare man was chasing a cat boy. That cat boy must be the Cheshire cat and the hare had to be the March Hare. I really must be in Wonderland.
