♢McKenzie's POV♢
I walked in the door of my house and saw my mom sitting on the couch watching TV. "How was your first day of school Kenzie?" She asked.
I instantly remembered my day and got pissed all over again. "I hated it, mom!" I cried out in anger before running into my room and slamming the door. My older sister Alexia was sitting on her side of the room and she ignored me, knowing that I was mad. She was a few years older than me and I was 12.
I pulled on my headphones and blasted some music. Now that I was alone with my thoughts, all the memories from today came back.
*Flashback to this morning*
I awkwardly walked into homeroom. This was my first day at a new school and I already knew tht no one would want to hang out with me. I was late so I couldn't exactly hide and blend in.
Thankfully, no one gave me a second glance as I sat down in the back of the class.
Most of the kids had either blond or brown hair so my red hair made me stuck out even more. No one really talked to me unless if they were making fun of my red hair or the fact that I was only 4'6.
That was pretty much how my first day of school was spent.
*End of flashback*

I stayed in my room for the rest of the day, not bothering to come out or eat.
The next day, I got up early and got ready for another horrible day.
It was all pretty much the same, until lunch.
I got my food and tried to find a place to sit. All the kids were in their own groups. One person in particular stood out. I never would have noticed her, if she hadn't been sitting all by herself.
I looked closer and realized that she was in all of my classes. She glanced up for a brief second and my eyes connected with her stormy blue ones. She instantly looked down. Figures. I thought, She's probably really popular. She wouldn't wanna hang out with someone like me.
The girl definitely looked popular, with her waist length light brown hair and she was probably just like all the rest. All this thinking made me lose my appetite. I threw out my food without touching it and headed out to recess. ,
I was sitting on the swings by myself, as all the other kids ran around and played. Swinging high, I jumped out and nearly ran into the girl I had seen at lunch. "I'm s-sorry." I stammered out, embarrassed.
"It's okay." She said with a gentle smile.
"So what's your name?" I asked, pretty straight forward. I wasn't much of a person to cut corners.
"Rhyan but please don't laugh. It's not even spelled like the boy's name Ryan. My name has an "H" in it." She said in a kinda scared voice.
"I wasn't going to laugh at you." I promised. "My name is McKenzie." I said with a smile.
Maybe, just maybe... I had finally found a friend.
