I skipped the rest of the day and stayed in one of the bathroom stalls just sitting and thinking about what just happened this past weekend. This would've never happened if I decided to go out to eat with Matt it's all my fault. After the last bell rang I headed out the school doors and started walking away from campus then my phone rang, "hello?" I said. "Eva you need to talk to me. Wait for me at the front of the school and you can come over." "Elena?" I asked confused. "Just meet me in the front. Instead of walking away from that demand I chose to wait at the front of the school and after a few minutes I saw Adam walking my way a small smile appeared on my face and he hugged me. "Eva what's wrong?" He asked pulling away from the hug, "Nothing." I said as tears started to form in my eyes. "Obviously something is wrong if your eyes look like they're going to explode with tears damn tears Eva." I covered my face with my hands and started breathing heavy and slowly tears started to roll down then Adam put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Eve I know I wasn't the best boyfriend and I'm not the greatest friend in the world but I want you to know I'll always be here when you need me. If you don't feel comfortable with telling Elena what happened you can always tell me but if only that's what you want. Both me and Elena haven't seen you this sad in ages. We know something's going on and you don't want to tell us, and I get that but bottling this much emotion isn't good Eva." My soft tears soon began falling down like a big storm I didn't know how to respond to such a meaningful "speech". "Adam I know you and Elena want to help me get through some shit but there are things you guys won't understand. I wouldn't want you guys to give me pity." I couldn't stand all this "mushy" emotional talk. "Can I just leave Adam, I don't need any more problems to stress over at the moment-" My phone started ringing as I was talking, "are you going to get that?" Adam asked and I looked down to see Matt was calling me I forwarded the call I shook my head, "no it was no one important." I started receiving a ton of texts from Matt, "whoever it is, needs to talk to you." "Ugh!" I groaned. Matt called a second time and I decided to answer it. "Adam I'll talk to you tomorrow." I walked away putting the phone to my ear, "what the hell do you want?" I shouted into the phone, "Eve, I need you with me. I know it seems like I don't but I do. I miss you!" I caught my breath from crying, "are you crying? Why are you crying!" he yelled into the phone, "Matt I don't understand what you fucking want from me! One day you love me the next you don't! I don't fucking read minds Matthew!" I yelled. I turned around to see only Adam standing there under the tree I turned around and lowered my voice, "Eva if you could just let me-" "Matt you can't explain shit! What don't you fucking understand? Do you need me to spell it fucking out?" There was a small silence, "Matt I don't know what you want from me, you need to fucking speak up! Whatever this is I can't do it anymore. You hurt me a lot, what you did in the past and what you're doing to me now puts a lot of guilt and wait on me. You treating me like this, fucking me over like this, just hurts and stops me from liking or falling for other guys. You made it hard for me to trust any guy that talked to me. You made me feel like shit and now I feel like that all the time you can't change what you did to me Matt and you never will. You won't ever have the guts to fucking change and prove to me you can be a better person, you lost your chances Matt." "Eva-" "Matt I don't want to hear it!" I hung up the phone and placed it in my bag and took a seat on the curb of the road. "Eva?" Adam walked up behind me and tapped me on my shoulder, "what?" I snapped. I wasn't in the mood to talk or even explain what just happened he shouldn't have been there listening to mine and Matt's argument. "You ok?" I wiped a few tears off of my cheek and took a deep breath, "yes Adam I'm fine. No I don't want to talk about it." I got up and started walking, "Eve where are you going?" he yelled as I got further and further away from him. "I'm going home."
