"Can you stop gigglin' for one minute and actually fucking kiss me?"
Joe pulls away completely, creased with laughter and Q is left to sit there in slight annoyance, trying desperately to keep the corners of his lips from twitching as the other rocks back and forth to try and calm the bellowing guffaw that leaves his lips.
They've been having secret flings for a little over a month now and the bearded man is finding himself growing more and more fond of the times they spend together. Only this time, every time he's tried to get closer to Joe, the Joker has started laughing into their kisses and ultimately made him pull back. Just because his laughter is contagious doesn't mean it isn't off-putting when he's trying to make out.
"Sorry, sorry- I've got it this time, don't worry. C'mere," Joe sobers, putting a hand on Brian's neck and guiding him closer, their lips meeting once more. Q closes his eyes, tries to ignore the quiver of the other man's lips as a chuckle threatens to break through. It does. And the sound is so infuriatingly sweet that when Q pulls away again he doesn't even have it in him to look irritated. Justhelpless.
"What?" He asks exasperatedly, watching as Joe raises a hand defensively, settling it on his shoulder.
"Nothin', nothin', it's just..." And then he mumbles the rest of his sentence so that he has to lean in. The words still escape him, lost in the tiny space between them and in that moment Joe looks up and gives him a tiny smile, one that makes a cliche jolt run down the length of his spine. Why the hell does he have to be so cute?
"Just what?" Q presses, instinctively lowering his voice to match Gatto's tone. The other Joker leans in, bumps his nose gently against his while he finally musters the nerve to utter the words he had trailed off with.
"...your beard tickles." This time Q does falter, half-smile, half-smirk forming. He knows about Joe's habit of running his fingers down the side of his face just to feel at the hair that coats it. Unsure he's even aware that he's doing it. Either way, it makes the dark-eyed man shiver because he knows that the other gets off on it, even if he doesn't take it to heart.
Brian leans in once more, catches the other man's lips in a soft kiss. When he feels Joe's mouth curl with traces of a smile again, he does what he does best: he pushes. The Joker walks Joe backwards, feels the smile falter beneath his lips as he forces his tongue into his mouth and pins him back against the wall of the back-room, listening to the sharp gasp of air that escapes Gatto's mouth as he does. It drives him, pushes him harder against his body, relief coming to him when Joe's arms wrap around his neck and hold him close as he kisses back with equal energy.
When Q feels the other's fingers reach up the side of his face and stroke over his beard, he begins to smile for the irony tickles him. Joe pulls away with heaving breath, cheeks lightly flushed as his eyebrows dip. It makes Q laugh.
"Stop gigglin', asshole."
